I woke up to crying. I rolled over to reach for my husband, Dylan, but he was gone. I got up and padded out of the room, into our oldest daughter Layla's room. He wasn't in there. I went into our son Jackson's room; wasn't there either. I found the last room, and walked into our daughter Lillian's room. "Shh, Lily-Bily. Stop crying baby, daddy's here." he said running his thumb over her forehead. Lily calmed down, and a smile grew on my face as I watched my incredible husband interact with my 6 month old daughter. Jackson and Layla are twins at 3, and after 2 and a half years of trying again, we finally found out I was pregnant with Lillian. 2 successful pregnancies later, and I ended up with Layla Annabella Larkin, Jackson Kevin Larkin, and Lillian Marie Larkin. The girls followed the L's, and I hoped that the baby that I was pregnant with right now would end up being a boy, because I wanted him to be a J, preferably Jacob. Dylan didn't know I was pregnant and I was planning on getting the whole family together at breakfast the next morning, because Dylan had an off day, and tell them the big news. Dyl set Lillian back in her crib, put a blanket on top of her, kissed his fingers and then pressed them on top of her nose. "Daddy loves you, baby girl." he said as he walked out of her room, turning around to be faced with me. There was a few growing tears in my eyes, but Dylan wiped them away and kissed me on top of the head. "Daddy loves you, baby girl." he said to me with a smirk on his face. "Dyl!" I screeched and slapped his chest as he just laughed and picked me up bridal style, walking into our room. He set me down and then crawled in next to me, wrapping his arms around me from behind, his fingers trailing up and down my leg. He moved my shirt away from my shoulder and placed soft kisses on my shoulder. I laid my head back farther into his shoulder and he slid down towards my legs and laid on top of me, his fingers trailing on my stomach. He placed soft, almost careful kisses on my stomach. My breathing hitched, thinking he might know I was pregnant. "Dyl." I whispered, knowing I had to tell him now. He looked up from my stomach and looking me in the eyes. "Your kissing our future child." I said and his eyes widened, tears forming in them. "Oh my god!" he exclaimed, picking me up and spinning me around. I giggled and through my head back, laughing at how cliche that was. I told him I wanted to wait to tell the kids, so we did. We didn't end up falling asleep until late that night, thinking of names for our future kid. For a girl, we were thinking Lauren Alaina Larkin and for a boy, Jacob Anthony Larkin. "I love you." he said against my back, kissing my shoulder. I was asleep before I could say anything else, but he knew what I was gonna say. I felt him smile against my back thinking about it.
The Next Morning
I woke up to Dylan making pancakes for the kids. I smiled and wrapped my arms around him from behind. "Hey sweets." he said, turning around to face me and kiss me on the lips. "Hi honey." I said smiling at him and releasing myself from his arms, walking over to get some coffee. I grabbed the "World's Best Mother" mug the kids had bought me for Mother's Day and poured my coffee in it, sitting at the kitchen table, grabbing my laptop and started sifting through emails. A plate of pancakes was sat down in front of me just the way I like them, with chocolate chips, cut up, and I looked up at Dylan and smiled, pulling on his hair to get his head to reach me so I could kiss him. "Thank you baby." I told him and he nodded and smiled in response. The kids were started to get distracted, so I decided to tell them. I nodded at Dyl and he walked over, wrapping his arms around my waist from behind. "Kids, we have a very important announcement." Dylan told them and they looked up from their plates and turned their gaze to us. "In about 7 or so months, your gonna have a new baby brother or sister." I said and I felt Dylan smile against my neck, kissing my shoulder softly. "Yay!" Layla exclaimed and Jackson did the same thing. Lillian had no idea what was going on, but she saw they were happy so she was happy too and started smiling and clapping her chubby baby hands. I turned around in Dylan's arms and smiled up at him, kissing him. I felt something hit my head and I turned around, seeing a wad of pancake on the floor and Lillian clapping. Dylan just laughed and I groaned, slapping his shoulder. Man, was I excited for baby number 4.7 Months Later
