"Another week?" I stuttered into the phone. "Ya baby, I'm sorry. I know you've been lonely over there." The longest road trip of the season has officially hit; the circus trip. The circus trip was the most dreaded for hockey wives and girlfriends. I've been dating Andre for 5 years, and the circus trip never gets easier. Even when he played in the OHL, he would still have long road trip. "It's okay, hon. It's your job." I told him honestly. "I know, but I still feel guilty leaving you." he told me and I sighed. "I gotta go to bed, I love you." I told him sadly. "I gotta get used to this time thing. I love you more. Sweet dreams, my love."

6 days later, and I'm still lonely without Andre. He has a 9:30 game today in LA, so it's 6:30
there. I hate when they do these dumb games, because I stay up and then I regret it the next morning. Andre was staying the night in LA, and then he was gonna come home tomorrow afternoon. It was 7:30, so I still had 2 hours until the game even started. I groaned and walked to the kitchen to get the ice cream. No way I wasn't gonna eat ice cream when my boyfriend was on a road trip. Actually, I was gonna treat myself today. I ran upstairs and slipped on a pair of grey Nike sweatpants and a random caps sweatshirt I found on the floor that was probably Andre's. I ran downstairs and grabbed my moccasins and my keys, and went to the nearest froyo shop. I got my froyo and left as soon as I can, so that I wouldn't be seen out in public for too long looking like I was. My stomach growled and I realized that I hadn't eaten dinner. I groan and go to the nearest chipotle drive thru, ordering a burrito and then leaving. When I finally got home, it was 8 o'clock. I ate and then took care of some housekeeping stuff, playing with the dog, taking care of some stuff I might have for my clients and then soon enough, it was 9:30. No hockey game is complete without ice cream, so I had to even though I had just had froyo. It was an intense game, but in the end the caps ended up losing 31, TJ scoring the only goal for the caps, Andre without a point or a shot. I frowned at the end result and pulled my phone out to text Andre.

I rounded up the dog and filled up my Tervis cup with water, walking up the stairs to go to bed. The minute I closed my eyes, I was asleep.

I woke up to the bed sinking and I figured it was the dog, but when strong arms wrapped around me I turned around and was face to face with my favorite person in the world. A sleepy smile emerged on my face as I ran my hands through his soft, brown curls, his fingertips running over the edges of my face. "I thought you weren't supposed to be home until tomorrow." I muttered into his chest. "We took the plane home after the game. Your gullible, so you believed that I wasn't gonna be home. I knew you'd been lonely lately and I wanted to make you happy." he told me. I didn't know whether to roll my eyes at him calling me gullible, or to smile because he's so sweet. So I smile, and roll my eyes. "Your so sweet, but I am not gullible." I stated. "Baby, please. You're more gullible than Latta."

short but sweet :)
