They were talking and Xavier realized that he still had to tell Aletta his secret. He had to tell her soon or she would leave and he would lose the chance. Whenever he tried they got interrupted by something. Xavier really wanted her to know how he felt. Aletta said she had to go inside and Xavier was sad but he said ok.

She went inside and played with her siblings for the rest of the day. Aletta likes playing with them; it makes her feel more connected with them. She thought this especially because she would never see them again most likely, or not for a very long time. She would never see her parents again either because they were going to leave the country after Aletta got settled in; she had overheard them talking about leaving, after their time was up there.

Aletta was hopeing that they would be able to visit her. Aletta didn't want to leave; this was the only place she had ever been. She is leaving and will do a year of school to meet people and learn about the country. She doesn't want to leave the person she does know. Xavier is the first friend she has had and she doesn't want to leave him. She talked to her parents on the phone that night and told them she didn't want to do this. They told her "the country comes first and..." then she interrupted "and I come second!" she yelled out. Aletta slammed the phone on the receiver, then mumbled "I'm tired of coming second" and went to the middle of the yards and waited.

Xavier saw her and she was crying under the tree in her backyard. He ran out and asked her what was wrong she said she didn't want to leave. He said he didn't want her to leave either. Aletta said they will probably never see each other again. Xavier said " I know and speaking of that I have something to tell you." She asked him what it was. He took a deep breath and then his mother called for him to go inside, because it was getting dark out. He got up and said goodbye and went inside.

She went inside and played with Wence and Shanna. Her sister asked if Aletta if she was really going to leave. Aletta said yes she had to go for her country. Her brother asked if they would get the country after Aletta. She said yes they would after she ran it. They thought that was cool to have their own country and everything. Aletta wanted to stay and never leave but in four months that didn't matter because she would be on her way there.

She was scared about leaving because she would have to leave Xavier and would never see him again. She didn't even know how Xavier actually felt. Aletta didn't even know he loved her.

She was thinking about how he has been trying to tell her something. Then her brother and sister told her they didn't want her to leave. She went into her room and sat on her bed it made her happy her siblings liked her so much.

She went out and played with them then she had them go to bed, because it was getting late. Aletta wanted to ask Xavier how he really felt about her needing to leave; she could tell he has been holding something back.

She went over to his house and asked him. He said he wasn't happy about her leaving but if it was what she had to do then he could tolerate it. She said "if you are not ok with it I will..." he interrupted "you'll do what, you have to do this." She got really mad because he didn't listen and she was trying to help, but she understood it, she was mad too. She started to leave and he told her to stop and that he was sorry for snapping like that. She turned around and said it was ok. She walked into her house and didn't want to talk to him for a while. She knew she won't be able to not talk to him, but she was mad that she couldn't do anything, just like he said.

She just didn't understand this isn't how he usually acts. Him just interrupting her like that it just wasn't him. Was there something on his mind? She wondered. She doesn't know what to do, she wants to talk to him but what should she say? She asked herself all kinds of questions on what to do. She wanted to know but it was probably just something that happened that day. So she just let it go.
