Chapter Nineteen

Aletta ran up to her room and Xavier was standing, waiting to see what the decision was. Aletta ran up to Xavier and ran into him, and they fell on the floor. Xavier said "I'm guessing they agreed with you, and revoked it." Aletta was so excited, that she couldn't say anything and just nodded.

They were so excited that they ran to the hallway and halfway down the stairs, but then stopped. Aletta told Xavier that they should decide how to tell her parents. Aletta looked outside and saw her mom talking to the press. Aletta said "I have an idea' then she went outside.

The press ran up to her, and asked her why she changed the rule, and asked if there was someone special that is from somewhere else, and... Aletta interrupted and said that there is someone very special to her, and yes that is why she revoked the rule. The reporters started to talk again, but Aletta spoke up and said "here I'll show him to you" and she opened the door and told him to come out.

Xavier walked out and stood next to Aletta. The reporters ran up to them taking pictures and asking questions. Aletta's mom walked up and said "this is why you wanted to revoke the rule?" Aletta said yes it is. The reporters went to her mom, and asked her how she didn't know about this, and how she could run the country, when she couldn't even take care of her daughter.

Her mother said she wasn't going to talk and went inside. Aletta and Xavier stayed out for a minute, and then went inside. Her mother asked how long they had been together. Aletta said they haven't been together very long, but they have been friends for a while.

Her mother asked why she didn't tell her about him. Aletta said that she just did tell her about him. Her mother asked why she didn't tell her sooner. Aletta said that she had to get rid of that stupid rule first. Her mother said the rule was not stupid. Aletta said that the only way her and Xavier could be together was if she got rid of the rule. Her mother said the rule was put in place for a reason, and that Aletta wouldn't be able to understand.

Then she started to walk out of the room. Aletta said she knew exactly what the reason was, because she talked to her aunt. Aletta's mother stopped for a minute and said her aunt didn't understand, and kept walking.

Aletta yelled "you can't just say that nobody understands, when what I really think, is that you don't understand. Her mom just kept walking, and Aletta fell onto the couch. Xavier sat down with her, and said "I think you handled that ok." Aletta looked up and said that she thought her mother would get to know him and... Xavier said "and what she would just approve of this, just like that?" Aletta said that she wanted to try to talk to her. Xavier said that she could go and talk, even if she wouldn't listen. Aletta said she would wait, and then talk to her. Xavier said that was smart, and then he went to talk to and learn about the people.

Aletta went up to her room and sat on her bed reading. Her mother walked in, and Aletta looked up, shocked. Her mother said "I don't approve of you and him" Aletta interrupted and said Xavier, he has a name. "Xavier, I don't approve of the secrets, lies, and the rule breaking." Aletta said "are you just going to keep saying that you don't approve of this?" "But even though I don't approve of this, he sure has had an impact on you, whether it is good or bad, "mom" "alright, and you seem to like him, a lot." Aletta got a little excited, and said "so we have your blessing?" Her mother said "I am not here to give you my blessing; I am here to be your mother." Aletta yelled "and I did not ask for your blessing, I don't need it, I just would have been happy to have it," and left.
