If only you knew

Chapter Eight

Xavier was the only guy that understood her and she was going to leave him like this. She knew she wouldn't be able to, so she was thinking all night of a plan to stay.

She woke up in the morning and couldn't think of anything to tell her parents. Anything she wanted to tell them would involve telling them about Xavier and that was breaking their biggest rule, she had to think of a reason besides Xavier, even if it was a lie.

Then she thought of something. She made Wence and Shanna breakfast and got them ready in the morning like she was supposed to. When she was done she called the country and waited for her parents. They finally picked up the phone and Aletta told them she wasn't going to be a good princess and to reconsider her being the ruler. They were shocked at this and eventually said that she would do just fine and she would get taught by the best person there, and that she was just nervous.

She said that was great, lying of course with a little worry in her voice. How was she going to tell Xavier she still had to leave? Later in the day she told him, she waited to talk to him.

"I thought it was weird that you were ignoring me all day,and now I know why."

"Yeah, sorry about that I couldn't face you knowing I still had to leave."

"It's ok, I was just wishing you didn't have to go or that I could go with you."

"That is a great plan."

"It is?"

"Yeah, you can come with me and be a citizen of my country."

"That's great"

They agreed it would be a great plan they could still see each other. She was about to call her parents to ask if he could come but she hung up as soon as they answered. Xavier asked why she hung up. She said it was because they aren't supposed to know she talks to people she isn't allowed to talk to them. He said that if she can't ask for permission they'll just have to go without it.

"And what happens when we get there?"

"We will say we met on the way there."

She liked this plan they decided they would say he was going to move there and they met on the train. They thought this would work and they were so excited. They talked about it for hours and they wanted to leave right now. But they still wanted to stay a little longer; no plan could make her want to leave this town.

Xavier went home and told his family their plan. His mom was shocked at this.

"There are other girls and you can't leave just because she is leaving."

"She is not just another girl she is perfect for me, and I want to go. I'm going."

"You are not going, you can't go."

He got mad and went outside and sat by Aletta's house. She went outside and asked him what he wanted. He said he was so mad. And she asked what it was about. He said that his mom wouldn't let him go. She asked what they were supposed to do. He said he doesn't know, he joked and said they could sneak out at night. She wished he could come but he couldn't, she couldn't make him do that. If he couldn't come she wanted to stay but she couldn't. They were kind of stuck.

"We could..." She stopped not knowing what to say, they were all out of ideas.

So he said they could talk from different places. Aletta said that she would try to do whatever she could; she couldn't let him fall out of her life completely. So they decided on that as their plan for now. Aletta wished they could really be together but it seemed this is the closest they will get. She still wants them to stay together but she can't. She wishes so much that they could stay with each other. Xavier said it was the closest thing they could do. She said she knows and they think this is the best plan.
