"Castor! In the trees!" I yell.

"Yes, sir!"

"Khay'rat, check on Fianna."

"As you wish."

"Luke!"

"Not here, sir. You sent him to Phorynth to protect base four." Uncle Derek says.

"Right. Crystal!"

"Yes?"

"I need you and Derek out hunting. Tell Kazimir to collect water from our reservoir."

"Step up, men! Tomorrow, you go out on the battlefield, you'd better as hell be in top form!"

"Ay, Mate." Kai walks up to me. "I saw somethin interesting on patrol."

"What is it?" I ask.

"An elephant. And a big one too. You know, it reminds me of the baby I brought here years ago. She ran away en I never saw her again. Anyways, it'd make good grub. Should I kill it?"

"No! Where was she?" Hannah runs to Kai.

"Gone, now. Hang on." Kai turns towards the forest and whistles. From the trees, a parrot flies and perches on his arm. "This here beauty is Navi. Short for navigate. She can give you longitude and latitude of any location. Let me see your shield, miss." Kai holds Hannah's shield and shows it to Navi. "Go find her, Navi." The bird flies off and Hannah watches her.

"Why Navi?"

"It was the name of a fairy in a human game. I liked it. And she's a great navigator."

"Black knight!" Dandelion calls. I turn to face her. "It's Fianna! She's going into shock."

"Shit. Go get Derek, tell him to get to the infirmary." I run into the base, Hannah behind me. In a bed, Fianna is bouncing, like a fish out of water."

"She's having a seizure. Put a pillow under her head." Uncle Derek orders. Castor and Uncle Derek struggle to help her.

"Black knight, we're under attack!" Aunt Crystal runs up to me, hand already on sword.

I turn, Uncle Derek is helping Hannah.

Noise. Screaming. I run up to the ground.
