Chapter 23

I'm shock, really shock. Did I heard it wrong?

"I'm starting to have feelings for you Hae... So I hate seeing you cry, especially when it's because of Jinhwan." That dark brown eyes staring straight into mine. I avoided eye contact and look outside. I bit my lower lips and pulled the hem of my school skirt tightly.

"Don't worry, I'm not asking you to accept me. I know you're not ready and so am I. I don't want us to become awkward. The reason I tell you is because I want you to stop thinking about him. I wish you'll be happy everyday like just now." He said, the serious face changed into a warm smile.

I slowly look back at him.

I don't want things to get awkward too.

"I promise you Junhoe, I'll try my best. And we won't get awkward right? We're still best friends!" And this is true hearted words.

He nodded and stood up. I was kinda scare because it start shaking.

"Yah! Junhoe what are you doing?! Sit down?!" I try to balance my self, actually I'm freaking out.

I felt a hand grabbed my wrist. And before I can even react.

Junhoe pulled me to him and hugged me.

Maybe because we're standing in the middle so it stop shaking.

I listen to Junhoe steady heart beat. I found my self smiling and slowly wrapped my arms around him.

I brushed my hair slowly and hummed a song for me while resting his chin on top of my head.

"I'm scared that I might love you too much."

Time skip...

Things didn't get awkward between me and Junhoe, we're getting even closer now.

I didn't talk to Jinhwan the whole week. He'll always go to Hyelin school to wait her. And Junhoe will always walk me home. Or sometimes we'll go to the cafe and study. And I'l wait him until his shift is over, then we'll walk back home together.

Sometimes he'll even stay in my house. And mom let him. But in the living room of course.

Because she said dad always goes on business trip and it's not safe that our house doesn't have guys. So she'll often invite Junhoe to stay over. Just like how she used to do it with Jinhwan.

Me and Junhoe will chat with each other until I'm asleep then he'll went down stairs.

But today is different, because we have a special guest.

"Hae! Hoe! Come down here!" While me and Junhoe are chatting, mom suddenly called.

I look at Junhoe and he only struggle his shoulder.

We both get up from the floor and walk down stairs.

I never thought he'll be at here again.

"Ouh hi Hae..." He said and rubbed the back of his neck shyly.

"Ouh hey Jinhwan..." I said and walk beside Junhoe.

"Well well, all my babies are here today aye? Should I go and cook. And Jinhwan, you're staying here tonight, Hoe also." My mom clapped her hand together and went to the kitchen.

Well this is awkward...

He's staying here today and that's even weird, ugh!

He's still wearing his school uniform. So is me and Junhoe.

I look at the clock that is on the wall, 5:46p.m

I tapped Junhoe shoulder slightly and pointed at the clock." You should go bath already."

He smiled and nodded but before leaving, he stole a glance at Jinhwan.

We just stood there...with silence... It's my house and he's a guest so I guess I should...

"I didn't bring any clothes with me Hae ah." He said and I immediately look at him.

I stare at him blankly.

Just how long since he last talk to me.

"Your...clothes are in the usual place...I never touched them..." I said and pointed upstairs.

His clothes are with Junhoe clothes. I don't have so many spare place to put it.

He nodded and went upstairs.

I sighed and pinched my nose bridge. I sat on the couch.

It's strange that Jinhwan will come here, I mean we didn't talk in school. Normally people will think that I'm angry at him. But no I'm not.

"Hae...I know there's something wrong between you and Jinhwan. Well fix it, that's the main reason I invited him over." I look back at the dining room, she's standing there with her apron.

I laughed bitterly, of course he won't come if it wasn't forced. Maybe he is with Hyelin this time.

I stood up and went upstairs.

Pushing the door open, revealing Jinhwan sitting at the edge of the bed, holding some of his clean clothes.

He look at me with that blank expression.

"How's Hyelin?" I asked while biting my bottom lips.

He look down at the wooden floor and smiled to himself."She's fine, we're happy together."

He look so happy...

"What about you and Junhoe?" He look at me, not with that blank expression like before.

"Will you be mad if I tell you he's replacing you?"
