Chapter 17

I stared at them, she's pretty, very pretty. They didn't saw me I think. Their mouth is moving, so I guess they're chatting. And with the smile plastered on their face...I really don't want to disturb them.

I turned around and ready to leave. But then...

"Hae!" I heard Jinhwan shouted. I bit my lips as I stopped walking. I slowly turn around with a forced smile.

Jinhwan smiling at me while waving his hand. And Hyelin is smiling shyly at me while standing up.

I walk to them and greeted Hyelin.

"Hello, you don't need to stand up, I guess we're the same age." I smiled and let her sit down. I moved beside Jinhwan.

"She's a year younger than us." Jinhwan said and my eyes widen.

"Wow!" So she's 17 years old... Why do I feel so old.

"Should I call you unnie, Haejung unnie?" Hyelin asked and I smiled. She's very cute.

"You already did, Hyelin shi." I chuckled and he rubbed her neck sightly.

"Nice to meet you unnie." She reached out his hand and I gladly shook it. I got a feeling she's a kind girl.

"Nice to meet you too Hyelin."

The talk went on, we laughed at each other jokes. We get along pretty well. And I see sparkle in Jinhwan eyes when the both chatted.

"So I finally met you Hwannie..." My smile faded...

Hwannie...it used to be only me who called him that... I guess not anymore...

"Excuse me, but I need to use the washroom." I said and left.

The washroom is a single person washroom.

I close the door and rest my back against it. I turn to my right and look at my reflection through the mirror.

I look awful.

My skin is a bit pink and pale because the whether is cold but I didn't wear any coat or jacket. Plus I'm wearing shorts. And my face look tired. Ad with the face I'm showing, it's like I just had a break up.

I pulled out a coat from my small backpack. I wear it and wash my face.

I slap my face slightly and look at my self through the mirror.

"This is what you want Hae ah... So be happy for him..." I took a deep breath and forced a smile.

I walk out of the wash room and go back the the two.

I sit beside Jinhwan, still keeping the forced smile.

"Hi I'm back, so where were we again?"

Time skip...

"So maybe we'll meet again?" I asked as we walk out the cafe that we stayed for two hours.

She smiled and nodded her head."I will love to!" She said cheerfully.

"Ok then, we should get going, bye Hae." We both look at Jinhwan with a raised brow.

"Which Hae/hye are you calling?" And I realise our short form have the same pronounce. Just how cool.

"Uhm... I'm saying bye to Haejung, and I'm walking Hyelin home..." He said and we both nodded.

"Ok, let's go Hwan ah." Hyelin said and Jinhwan walk beside her. I waved my hand to them as they waved back.

Slowly they disappear from my sight.

I smiled bitterly. He never let me walk home alone...

I look up at the sky and raise my arm above my head to block the sun.

A very new start...

Time skip...

"So that's for today, please complete your homework." I shut my book and put it into my bag, soullessly.

School started, everything went back to normal. Except that Jinhwan got his new best friend, the new one that he spend almost all of his time with. And Junhoe... silently replacing Jinhwan in my heart...

Me and Jinhwan only talk in school now. He didn't come to my house anymore and even if we talk in school, he kinda just answering me. He won't start a topic and his eyes will always glued on the screen.

So our friendship distanced...just like the way I wanted.

Junhoe is staying beside me all the time, just like how Jinhwan used to be. Except that Junhoe is more quiet.

And the boys and Yoojin is still the same.

"I'll walk you home?" Oh yeah, and also, Junhoe is the one walking me to and back school. Jinhwan went to Hyelin school of course.

I smiled and nodded my head. I slung the bag over my shoulder and carry some books on my hand.

We walked outside the class after saying our goodbyes to the others. I walked to my locker and put my stuff neatly in to the locker.

"Hanbin asked me..." Junhoe said while we're walking out the school.

"About what?" Without looking at him.

"About your sudden change..." He said and raised my brow.

"My sudden change?"

"Hae, it's obvious, you're so quiet this day... And you're not the cheerful you anymore, the boys and Yoojin are worried about you..." We stopped walking and I look at him.

I smiled and ruffles his hair.

"I'm fine! It's just that I need some time to accept my new life without Jinhwan." I said and continue walking.

Junhoe quickly run up to me.

"I don't understand Hae... You can still be friend with him... but why are you distancing yourself from him?" I chuckle bitterly when I heard that. He don't get it.

"Because our friendship is not like friends, so we can't be friends. If we do, I'll hurt the both. So I won't risk, I need to send him away Junhoe...You know? It's hard to stop your feelings for someone that you loved for years..."

I decided to update before going to school, again. I still need to catch the bus but nah, who cares. I'm bringing phone to school anyway～So I wonder, does anyone hear play superstar smtown? If you do, HIGH FIVE! I'm still at level 8 tho XD. I'm still keeping my goal, to finish this book on march. Let's hope I succeed.
