"When will I see you again? You left with no goodbye, not a single word was said, no final kiss to seal any seams, I had no idea the state we were in. I know I have a fickle heart and a bitterness, and a wandering eye, and a heaviness in my head, but don't you remember?" - Don't You Remember, by Adele

The rest of art class passed in silence. Blake was moody the rest of the class, so he made no other efforts to talk to me. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed, but oh well.

Once the bell rang signaling the end of class, AnnaCate and I ran out the door.

-

"You said that to Blake Adams?" AnnaCate asked with a shocked expression, when I retold my encounter with Blake.

"Yes." I said smiling.

Soon Reagan and Sarah caught up to us, and Anna told them about the art class escapades.

"Rejected." Reagan whistled and gave me a hip bump and a wink.

And then the four of us, me, Reagan, Sarah, and AnnaCate doubled over laughing.

"This is so great, first Cal Williams, and now Blake Adams, resident bad boy." AnnaCate said holding her side.

"Bad boy?" I raised en eyebrow.

"Oh totally, he doesn't wear that black leather jacket for nothing." Reagan chirped.

"Or that smirk, with his arms crossed pose." Anna said.

"He's very devil-may-care. Skips classes, gets into fights, sleeps around, scowls most of the time." Sarah added.

"Hmm... I thought he was just a player, not a bad boy and all that jazz." I remarked.

"Believe me there's only one player to look out for, so Blake had to settle for bad boy." Sarah looked at me knowingly.

I nodded, and then we kept walking to our seventh period classes. Reagan and I got to our class before Anna and Sarah, so we said our goodbyes first.

-

Seventh period went by rather quickly. And so did eighth. Except in eighth which was History, I had a weird encounter with some girl named Andrea and three other girls, that acted like she was their queen.

About halfway through AP History, a girl who looked like she was part of the Rockettes but rated X, came up to me. She was taller than me, because she was wearing very, very high heels. She was also wearing a baby pink button up shirt that was a few sizes too small, and sadly buttoned a few buttons too low for my liking, and a pair of cutoff shorts that just barely passed dress code.

"So, new girl." She sneered at me.

"Um hi?" I said.

Then she just continued to look at me, and then she began to laugh. Sarah told me to ignore it, so that's what I did.

When the bell rang to dismiss us for the day, I hurried out of the class as fast as everyone else. Sarah and I walked towards our lockers, which were luckily, right next to each other's, due to the fact that we managed to make a deal with Sarah's previous locker neighbor.

"Well, you survived your first day." Sarah said positively. "And without any encounters with-" Her eyes widened, she looked around quickly.

"What?" I said worriedly.
