Aaron's POV

I felt a familiar sensation flow through my veins. The poison was wearing off. I quietly opened the door only to see Loren walking into a different room, furious. Uh Oh, that must be Mari's room. I slowly followed behind him, making sure not to get caught even though you never knew what was going to happen around Loren. Mari stood up. Only to come face to face with him. This wasn't going to be a pretty sight.

Mari's POV

He smirked. He had no right to do what he has done. I brought up my fist to punch him, but he grabbed my fist inches before it hit him.

Playing Magic now, aren't we, Loren? Two can play at that game. I thought in my head.

His smirk only grew by the second. My wand formed in my hand behind my back. Loren must've thought I would point it at him because he moved to his right revealing Aaron. But I pointed it at the ceiling. The ceiling started to crack, and Loren looked furious. All the things we can do without talking...

Next thing I knew it, I fell to my knees. I made my wand disappear with the strength I had left. He was not getting ahold of that. My Magic hadn't fully recovered yet. Ugh, now he was going to torture me probably. I winced. Loren had used his magic to do something, but I didn't look up. I didn't want to see his terrible face.

"You're not as strong as you think you are." Loren forced out. And with that he left. After he chained Aaron to the wall. I finally looked up. Loren had chained me to a wall to. Great. Just amazing. I looked over at Aaron, hurt in his eyes.

I'm sorry, I'm not strong enough.

I'll never be enough in your eyes Loren. But I'm enough to someone.

Aaron's POV

I braced myself, and I received pain. I was chained to the wall by none other than Loren. I glanced over at Mari, and she looked up, it hurt me to see her in this pain. I struggled against the chain, but I only became weaker. But I kept trying.

"Stop, Aaron" Mari whispered, "It will only hurt you more"

I stopped. I looked down. Something caught my attention. Why is there a stick in a freaking Loren Prison? I picked it up.

"Mari, is this yours?" I threw the random stick to her, and she caught it.

"Yeah" the stick formed into a wand. My eyes widened.

------------------------------

"Seth! Look at this random stick I found!" Seth came running over to me. It was the day after the ritual, I felt bad that people died. I hated it. Especially since my dad is the one who runs it.

I saw the crying girl from yesterday. I wanted to be friends with her, I don't know why father forbid me talking to such a cute little girl.

I walked over to her.

"Do you want this stick?" I quietly asked her.

"Why are you talking to me, don't you hate me?" She looked up at me. My eyes widened.

"Um, n-no," Why did I have to stutter now? "I want to be friends with you"

"Oh, okay, yeah" she quietly took the stick I was holding out. Her eyes widened.

"What?" I asked curious.

I looked at the stick, and it was forming into a pretty wand.

"Wow!" I whisper-yelled. "You're magical just like me!"

She looked surprised. "You're magic too?"

"Yup"

------------------------------

It was the same wand. It was her. It is her. I took my gaze from the wand to Mari. She shyly smiled.

"Do you remember it from somewhere?" She asked.

"Yeah...I do..." I was still amazed at how it looked exactly the same as before.

"From where? A museum?" She was clearly amused by this.

"No," I said, "When I was six, I gave a girl a stick and she did the exact same thing"

"That's funny" There was a distant look in her eyes, "when I was six, a boy gave me a stick, and I did the same thing"

We looked at each other lost in thought.

In unison, we both said,

"It was you"
