*Garroth*

"I want to throw her a party!" Aphmau said happily
"A party?" I questioned
"A welcome party, and a party for saving us from her parents!" She beamed
"Um okay. When?" I asked
"Tomorrow night!" She smiled
"Okay then do you want me to help set up?" I asked
"No. It's going to be a surprise party so I need you to distract her." She said
"How?" I asked
"I don't know! Just keep her away from town," she said
"Alright," I said nervously before leaving.

___

"Hey Kyler!" I said after she answered her door
"Hi," she replied
"Uh- d-do you w-wanna go on a w-walk?" I asked
"Um, yea. Sure. Just let me get my shoes," she said and I nodded.

She came out and I smiled at her.

Your stupid Garroth, she can't see you.

"Ready?" I asked her
"Yup! Lead the way!" She said happily
"Alright" I said and we started walking into the woods
"So why'd you wanna go for a walk?" She asked as we passed trees
"I- uh- wanted to get to know you more," I said more of a question
"Oh okay, well what do you wanna know?" She asked
"Can I ask anything?" I asked
"Yes, I trust you." She said and I smiled
"Why did your parents abuse you?" I asked and she sighed
"Well you know I lied to Aphmau about my parents dying but it was just to protect the village. They somehow knew I was special. Before I even knew. They didn't want me knowing that I could become something more, more- strong, then them. They didn't let me have many things as a child. I only remember having a small box where I kept things that were special to me. I hid it from them. Every day I woke up wishing I could run away. They forced me to do everything around the house. If I talked to them, even just to say hi, they would hit me." She said trying to hold back tears
"I'm so sorry, I know how that feels and I'm so so sorry you had to go through that." I said looking at her
"What do you mean you know how that feels?" She asked and I dropped my head
"Garroth you can tell me anything." She reassured me placing her hand on my shoulder,
"I was- I am the heir to the lord of O'kahsis. When I was younger I didn't get to do things normally. I had to act proper and be quiet. My father is evil. He always liked my younger brother more than me too. He wants my brother to be lord when he dies but he can't unless I'm gone. Everyday I was pushed away, hit, kicked, and bullied by my father and brother." I said and her eyes filled with sympathy,
"I'm sorry Garroth," she said before she stopped walking and hugged me.

She wrapped her arms around me and rested her head on my shoulder. She squeezed me tightly.

"No need to be sorry, you didn't do anything," I said after she pulled away from the hug
"I know but I still feel bad for you, that must have sucked. But sadly, I know how it feels," she said as we seemed to exit the woods.

We were now on a beach. The sun was low and it was almost sunset.

"Wanna watch the sunset?" I asked her
"Sure," she said as she sat down on the sand next to the water.

She swirled her finger in the water. She then picked up a seashell and examined it.

"Garroth?" She asked not looking away from the seashell
"Yes?" I replied watching her
"Why do you wear your helmet all the time?" She asked
"I don't want people recognizing me as the heir to the thrown of O'kahsis. I don't want special treatment." I told her
"Oh," she said before she threw the seashell into the water
"What about you? Why do you always wear that scarf?" I asked her and she turned to me,
"I hate my face." She said bluntly
"What? Why?" I asked
"It's ugly. It tells stories about my past. My face reminds me of my childhood. It's a beaten, broken, and sad face." She said looking down at her hands
"Kyler, do you trust me?" I asked her
"Yes. Do you trust me?" She asked
"Yes. And because we trust each other will you show me your face?" I asked her
"I was afraid you'd ask that...." She said quietly
"I'll show you mine," I said
"Then- I guess we're showing each other our faces," she said
"Ready? Three, two, one." I said before I pulled off my helmet and she untied her scarf.

She had a scar going from her upper cheek, all the way to under her lips.

Her smile was beautiful. Her dull blue eyes looked brighter when you could actually see her smile.

"Kyler your the opposite of ugly," I said and she smiled and looked down, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink
"Thank you Garroth," she said
"I could get used to seeing your face everyday," I said and she looked at me weirdly
"Was that awkward? Sorry I'm not very good with talking to girls, especially pretty ones," I said quickly scratching the back of my neck.

She burst out into laughter. I smiled at her. She fell back into the sand giggling.

"What's so funny?" I asked her
"Your so cute," she smiled at me
"Cute?" I asked her
"Yea! You trying to flirt is cute," she laughed at me
"I can flirt!" I defended
"Mhm sure," she said sarcastically
"I can!" I laughed
"Really? Then how come Aphmau isn't your girlfriend yet?" She asked
"W-what?! H-how did you-" I questioned before she cut me off
"It pretty obvious," she smiled
"Ughhh," I groaned as I fell back into the sand
"You'll get better, you just have to practice," she told me
"Practice? How am I supposed to practice?!" I said staring at the sky
"Well you can practice flirting to anything really, alive things, not alive things, here try something on me," she said to me and I tensed up.
