Chapter Eighteen

*Kyler*

"Cadenza!" I yelled walking into her house
"I'm downstairs!" She shouted and I climbed down to the bottom floor
"Can you do me a favor?" I asked her
"Of course!" She said
"Well Dante asked me to go on a date with him-" she cut me off
"Oh my Irene!!" She squealed and I giggled
"And I don't know what we're gonna be doing so I don't know what to wear," I said
"Go ask him!" She said
"Are you sure? I don't wanna be too pushy," I said
"Oh my Irene your just like every girl on this planet! Just go ask him what your going to be doing," she said pushing me up the stairs and out the door.

Ugh. Fine then. I started walking to the guards tower where Dante was. I opened the door and climbed up the ladder.

"Oh, hey Dante." I said pretending like I didn't know he would be here
"Hey, what's up?" He asked
"Nothing, I just came to catch up on my reading," I said motioning to the books
"I'll let you get to that then," he winked
"Oh! Hey, what are we gonna do on our date tonight?" I asked him
"It's a surprise," he smirked
"Well what should I wear then?" I asked
"Something causal I guess," he said
"Hmm okay," I said before I left.

I ran back to cadenza house. I pounded on her locked door while panting.

She opened it and smiled at me. She let me in and I fell onto her couch. I laughed at myself.

"He said something casual," I said
"Okay, hold on. I think I have the perfect thing." She said before walking downstairs.

I heard a few things crash. Then her footsteps climbing back up the stairs.

"This! Go home and change into these and come back" She said handing me the pile of clothes
"Uh okay," I said leaving.

I walked over to my house. I opened the door and closed it behind me.

I walked down the stairs into my bedroom. I set the clothes on my bed as I got undressed from my previous clothes.

I threw my scarf and hood into my closet. I then grabbed the clothes one by one.

I looked in the mirror. Light skinny jeans with a few tears in them, a black crop top that made my belly button show, and Black shoes.

"I'm back!" I yelled walking into her house
"Yay!" She said coming up the stairs
"Now can I do your hair?" She asked
"Fine," I said
"Yes!" She laughed grabbing her supplies.

My hair was in a ponytail with a braid across the side of my head leading to the hair tie.

She had decided to do my make up too. She didn't make it too noticeable but it was pretty.

"Thank you," I said hugging her
"No problem, now go do your job," she giggled
"Oh right," I laughed leaving.

I walked back to my house and grabbed my over armor. I slipped it on and walked out.

I walked to my post at the front gate. I leaned against the wall and stared out into the forest.

"BOO!" Dante yelled before I screamed and turned around and had a sword at his neck
"Oh geez! Don't hurt me!" He laughed as my sword disappeared
"Heh, sorry," I smiled
"You look cute," he said grabbing my hand
"Thanks," I said as heat rose to my cheeks
"Are you ready for our date?" He asked
"Yea," I said before I closed the gate to Phoenix drop
"Then let's go," he said dragging me along
"Where are we even going?" I asked
"You'll see," he winked as we walked into the guards tower.

I took off my over armor and placed it on its stand. Dante did the same. He then walked over to the window.

"What are you doing?" I asked as he opened it
"C'mon," he said as he climbed out
"Your insane!" I yelled at him as he climbed his way to to top
"I know! C'mon I'll help you," he said reaching his hand down.

I leaned out the window and grabbed his hand. He gripped it tightly and pulled me up as I placed my feet on the wall while climbing up.

"Woah," I said once we got to the roof and I looked over the edge
"I know right, it's amazing ," he said
"It's so pretty," I said looking up at the sky
"Not as pretty as you," he said and I laughed at his cheesy pick up line
"You're stupid," I giggled
"I know," he said looking over at me
"Are you hungry?" He asked
"A little bit," I said sitting next to him
"Here," he said handing me a sandwich
"Thanks," I said smiling.

It was now dark outside and we were laying on the roof after finishing the food we had eaten.

"Now that we are done eating let's go do something actually fun," he smirked
"Like what?" I asked
"Like this," he said as he walked off the roof
"DANTE!" I yelled as I ran to the edge and looked over
"Yes?" He smirked as he hung from the tree below
"You scared the crap out of me," I said
"Whoops, sorry," he said before he dropped down to the ground
"Uh how do you expect me to get down?!" I yelled
"Jump! I'll catch you!" He shouted holding out his arms
"I'm not jumping!" I yelled folding my arms
"Do you trust me?" He asked
"Yes," I said
"Then jump. I'll catch you I promise!" He assured
"Ugh! Why am I doing this?" I asked as I turned and ran off the roof.

I closed my eyes tightly. I fell fast. Thank Irene he actually caught me.

"I'm never doing that again," I said after he put me down
"Why not?" He asked
"That was terrifying." I said shaking my head
"I'm sorry, I'll make it up to you by doing something fun!" He winked
"Which is..." I asked raising my eyebrows
"Sparing! C'mon let's go!" He laughed grabbing my hand and running to a random field.

"I have never been beat my a girl," Dante panted as my sword was against his neck
"I'm honored to be the first," I giggled
"Whatever," he said as my sword disappeared and he stood up
"Round two?" He asked
"You really wanna get beat again?" I smirked
"I'll get you this time," he said as the moonlight glared of his eyes
"Let's go," I winked backing up.

I got into a fighting stance and my sword appeared in my hand. Dante picked his two swords off the ground.

He started running at me. I quickly moved right before he ran into me. I snickered as he ran into a tree.

He quickly got back up and turned to face me. He slowly walked up to me and stood a few feet away from me.

We stared into each other's eyes for a few moments. Suddenly both of his swords swung at me and I ducked.

I rolled behind him before kicking the back of his knees making his loose balance.

He turned over on the floor and I placed my sword on his neck. I smiled at him.

"I win again," I smirked
"Whatever," he said as I helped him out
"I'm tired," I said as we walked along the path
"I'll walk you home," he said
"I have to guard the gate-" he cut me off
"I'll watch it," he said
"You don't have to, it's your off night," I said
"I want to," he smiled
"If you want to then you can guard it with me," I said
"Sounds good," he smiled as we headed towards the front gate.
