Chapter Nineteen

*Kyler*

"Garroth what's wrong?" I asked him as he was leaning against the gate
"Nothing," he shook his head
"It's obviously something," I said folding my arms
"Can I ask you a random question?" He asked
"Shoot," I replied
"Are you and Dante dating?" He asked
"I mean, we've been on a date, but we're not girlfriend and boyfriend," I said
"So I can do this?" He asked walking up to me
"Do wh-," I was cut off by his lips smashing into mine.

He quickly pulled away before I had time to react. He stared at me for a second.

"I'm sorry," he said shaking his head before turning and running
"Wait- Garroth!" I yelled but he kept running.

What just happened.

I walked through the village just making sure everything was okay.

Flashbacks from earlier kept running through my mind. I was still so confused.

"Kyler! Wait up!" Dante yelled as he jogged up to me
"Hey," I said, feeling like a huge weight was on my chest
"Hey what's up?" He asked
"Just on duty," I said
"No, I mean you looked worried or something," he said
"Huh? I'm fine," I lied looking up at him
"Are you sure?" He asked
"Uh huh," I hummed
"Okay then-" he was cut off
"Dante~Kun! Come here!" Kawaii~Chan laughed waving her hand
"I gotta go," he smiled
"Bye," I smiled back
"I'll talk to you later," he said before jogging off.

I watched as he approached Kawaii~Chan. Don't get me wrong I loved her but, but, I was jealous.

She was so pretty and had a way with guys. She laughed at something he said before I turned around and continued walking.

"Hey Aph?" I questioned as I sat down next to her on the sand
"Hm?" She hummed
"Can you keep a secret?" I asked
"Of course," she said concerned
"Well first off, do you like Garroth?" I asked her
"Yea, he's a sweet guy," she nodded
"No I mean, like, love him?" I asked again
"Oh, I don't know," she shook her head
"Oh okay.  H-he kissed me this morning," I said
"What?" She asked shocked
"It was so sudden and random! I just asked if he was okay because he looked sad, and he just asked if me and Dante were dating. I said no because we're not girlfriend and boyfriend and he just kissed me and ran off." I explained
"That's weird! This morning he came to me and asked if he could have the day off and I haven't seen him since," she said
"That's not good, I should go talk to him. Do you have any idea where he is?" I asked
"I don't, I'm sorry," she said
"It's fine, I'll see ya later," I said standing up and walking off.

I walked through the forest. I was careful not to make too much noise, I'd rather sneak up on Garroth than have him know I was coming.

I stopped as I heard twigs breaking. I sharply turned around before I was tackled.

"Hey!" I yelled before a cloth was placed over my mouth.

Bright blue eyes flashed in front of my face before I got very tired. My eyes slowly closed.

I woke up scared to move. I remember everything clearly until I blacked out.

I slowly opened my eyes. I glanced around without moving.

Blue crystals everywhere, lighting up what seemed to be a cave.

I flinched as something flew above me. I sat up slowly. A wyvern approached me. It was small.

It nudged my arm. I lifted my arm and it crawled under and snuggled up to me.

"Aw hi cutie,"  I whispered a so let it
"Your up," a voice said and I almost jumped off the bed I was on
"Oh my Irene, Garroth you scared me!" I said turning to him.

A wyvern just a little bigger than the one next to me was by his side.

"Heh, sorry." He said
"Where are we?" I asked
"Oh right, I'm sorry I had to knock you out- it's a Wyvern cavern. I'm guessing you were trying to find me, you were too close to finding the path here. It's a secret, so I had to knock you out before you found it," he said scratching the back of his neck
"Oh, I wasn't trying to intrude-" I was cut off
"I know. I come here when I'm stressed, it's where Raven lives," he smiled
"Raven?" I asked
"My Wyvern," he said crouching down next to the wyvern next to him and petting it
"Oh I see. I guess they can see your face too," I said motioning to his face that wasn't covered by a helmet
"Heh, yea. He likes you," he said pointing to the Wyvern who was now sitting on my lap rubbing its beak against my stomach
"He's adorable," I giggled as it squaked
"You should keep him," He suggested
"Like as my pet?" I asked
"Sure, Raven is mine. He doesn't usually come to Phoenix drop with me because he likes to stay here with his family, but I think that little guy is connected with you." He said coming over to me
"Does he have a name?" I asked
"Nope, well, not an official name. Wyverns only connect with someone once in their lifetime, that person gets to give them a human name," Garroth said
"How do you know this one is connected with me?" He asked
"Well he never left your side while you were asleep, and he wouldn't let any of the other Wyverns come near you," he chuckled
"Heh, really? That's cute," I said looking down at it
"What are you gonna name him?" He asked
"Hmm, I don't know, he looks a lot darker than the other Wyverns," I said looking around
"That's true, he has a darker scale color, he's also doesn't get along with the other Wyverns very much," he said
"Aw poor little guy. I feel like we have a lot in common. I'll name him Rex." I smiled.
