Chapter Seventeen

AUDREY'S P.O.V
"Audrey! Minho!" A voice called out. I jumped and turned to see Chuck entering the woods. Did he just see what had happened?
I looked to Minho who was thinking the same thing. The less people who knew, the less of a chance my brother would find out that his best friend kissed his sister.
"Uh..." Chuck said awkwardly bouncing in the balls of his feet. He deffinately saw.
"You can't tell anyone," Minho told him.
"Please, promise you won't," I said.
"I-uh-im just here to-um," the younger boy stuttered trying to form a sentance. Finally he shook his head. "Newt said he needed you in the medjacks hut Audrey."
"What for?" I asked him. He shrugged in return. He apologized for interrupting then walked away.
"I geuss I have to go," I said standing.
"Yeah," Minho said joining me, "I should probably go, too. I probably have maps to work on."
"See you later, I guess?" I said looking up at him.
"See you later," he said smiling down at me. I turned to walk away but Minho called my name.
"Yeah?" I replied
"We kissed," he stated
"Really? I didn't even notice!" I joked sarcastically.
"Very funny," he said stepping closer to me, "but since we both seemed to admit liking eachother as more than friends, would you want to try it?"
"I'd like that," I replied wrapping my arms around his neck. He pulled me into him by the waist and kissed me again, softly. I pulled away after a few seconds.
"I really should go, though," I told him and ran out of the woods.
When i walked back into the medjack hut Thomas, newt, and the black haired girl were there. I was still floating from everything that had just happened it took me a second to process that the girl was acting completely normal, like her rock incident had never even happened.
"We don't even know what this stuff is. We don't know who sent it or why it came up here with you." Newt was saying. I could hear the concern if Newt's voice making me snap out of my trance.
"What happened?" I asked
"This could save Alby." Thomas said handing me a syringe.
"Where did you get this?" I asked him
"It was in my pocket." the girl replied
"How do we know this could help him?" I asked gesturing towards Alby.
"We don't." Newt said
"And you still want to inject it into him? For all we know this could kill him!" I said turning to Thomas.
"He's already dying. Look at him. How could this possibly make it any worse?" Thomas asked looking at all of us. "Come on it's worth a try."
Newt thought for a moment. "Alright. Do it."
"Newt!" I exclaimed "what if-" I began but he cut me off
"If he dies then he won't be in any more pain." Newt told me. He had a point.
"Okay." I said and I handed Thomas the syringe I was holding. He quickly took it and ran around the cot to stand next to Alby. I held Newt's hand. If it didn't help Alby then we were about to see our friend die.
Thomas kneeled down and took a glance at Clint Jeff Newt the girl and me. Then he turned to Alby. Alby's head lifted and he looked straight at Thomas. Before we could do anything Alby grabbed Thomas's shirt and began to scream at him. Newt quickly ran over and tried to pull Thomas out of Alby's grip.
"Get the other syringe!" Thomas yelled
"I dropped it!" Newt yelled while struggling with Alby. I looked at the ground and saw it in the corner of the room. I practically dived and slid on my knees to get it, tossing it to the girl who immediately stabbed it into Alby's arm. He instantly calmed down.
I leaned against the wall taking a deep breath. Newt and Thomas were breathing heavily and the girl was running her hands through her hair. Clint was taking Alby's pulse.
"Well that worked." Jeff said
"From now on some one stays here and watches him around the clock." Newt said strictly.
"Hey" Gally's voice said from the door. We all looked at him. "It's sundown greenie. Time to go."
Thomas's punishment. I'm pretty sure we had all forgotten about it by now. Thomas followed him out the door. After About five minutes Newt Clint and Jeff left too. I pulled up a chair and sat next to Alby. I looked up at the girl.
"This is new for me. I've been surrounded by bloody guys for the past two years." I told her
"I've heard." she said pulling up a chair across from me. "I'm Teresa." she held out her hand politely.
"Audrey" I told her and shook her hand. For the rest of the night we talked just like we were sisters. It was nice to finally have a girl to talk to.
"I have a question." she told me late at night.
"What is it?"
"How did you survive with all of these boys for two years?"
"At first I was shy, but I had Newt." I told her
"What do you mean?" she asked
"Well he's my brother. We came up together." I told her
"But you don't seem so shy anymore." she replied
