Chapter Twenty-Six

AUDREY'S P.O.V
The boy holding Teresa forced her into the patch of dirt in front of the doors. Earlier Gally made one of the Builders put two tall pole like pieces of wood vertically into the ground. It obviously had something to Do with Thomas and Teresa since he put them both in the slammer and then held a very short meeting with only the builders, who were his main supporters, and right away a boy put the poles in the ground.
The boys dragging Thomas who was pretending to still be passed out harshly dropped him in the dirt.
"Such a waste." Gally said. It almost made me punch him right then but I had to wait for the right moment. Thankfully Winston spoke up before I could do anything.
"Gally." he said calmly. "It just doesn't feel right man."
"Yeah." Jeff spoke up stepping up next to Winston. "What if Thomas is right. Maybe he can lead us home."
"We are home. Okay? I don't wanna have to cross any more names off that wall" Gally replied.
"You really think banishing us is gonna solve anything?" Teresa yelled at him.
"This isn't a banishing." Gally stated almost too calmly. I got confused. What was happening?
"Then what is it then?" I called out.
"It's an offering." he told me coolly
"What-Gally wait-what are you doing?" Teresa panicked as she was forced against the pole and her hands were tied above her head.
"You really think I'm gonna let Thomas back into the maze after what he's done? Look around you. Look at our glade. This is the only way. And when the Grievers get what they came here for everything goes back to normal." Gally told everyone.
"How are you all just standing there he's crazy." Teresa said looking at all the boys.
"Shut up. Tie him up." Gally told the boys who brought Thomas to the doors. The boys began to Do as they were told. Once they had Thomas half way up He opened his eyes and punched the boys knocking them unconscious. Everyone began to move at Once. I ran to Teresa who was struggling to get out of her ropes.
"I got it." I told her as I ran up. I pulled out a small knife that was hidden in my boot and began to cut the rope. Once she was free I saw Minho struggling to keep Gally from hitting someone. Chuck was a few feet away with a bag of weapons. I grabbed two long knives from him right away and called out.
"Minho! Catch!" I threw the long knife the short distance between us and he caught it by the handle. He pointed it at Gally's neck and I aimed mine at his back. Minho began to move backwards towards the maze entrance. Gally still didn't realize I was behind him and went to follow.
"Not so fast." I told him. I touched him with the tip of my weapon and he stopped and turned his head. I began to slowly circle my way around him until I was standing next to him. I slowly relaxed my knife and began to walk towards the maze but Gally grabbed my arm. I stopped but didn't look at him. He leaned into my ear.
"Have a nice death." he told me. He was trying to scare me.
"You too." I told him planting a fake smile on my face.
"You should just stay here." he said and his grip on my arm tightened. I could see Newt tense up.
"And why's that?" I asked him
"So i can kill you myself." with that I raised my knife and cut his arm. It wasn't to deep but It was enough for him to bleed a lot right away.
"I would love to see you try." I replied as he held his arm and I walked backwards to the maze.
"Now's Your last chance. Anyone who wants too come can." Thomas announced.
"Don't listen to him. He's just trying to scare you-" Gally began
"No I'm not trying to scare you alright? I'm scared we're all scared. But I would rather risk my life out there than be forced to stay here. Trapped. At least out there we have a choice." Thomas replied.
At first no one came. Then one by One everyone except for Gally and some builders were left standing in the glade while the rest of us were in the entrance of the maze.
"Gally please. Just come with us." Thomas tried. After a Few moments Gally shook his head.
"Good luck against the Grievers." He told us.
