8 Acquaintance

I hadn't seen Onika in class in two days. I was starting to worry about her I mean it's not like her to not show up, yeah to come late but not at all no.

Something wasn't right.

I seen Lauren and Robyn walking into my classroom giggling but there was no sight out of Onika.

Where is she?

"Uh Robyn will you come here please?"

I watched as she looked at Lauren confused but she walked over to me.

Once she stood in front my desk she was silent.

"Uh Robyn have you heard from Onika? You know spoke to her or anything?" I don't know why I was so nervous to ask about her.

"Umh no actually we went by her house every morning these last couple of days and her car hasn't been there and she also hasn't been picking up any or our calls." I nodded.

This made me uneasy.

"Uhh you think she's ok?"

"I really hope so Dr. K" I nodded.

"Is that all?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

I nodded.

She did too and walked off awkwardly.

I wondered would it be weird if I went and checked on Onika after school?

I sighed.

This may sound wrong but I really miss her smart mouth.

It was so boring in class without me having her here to get on.

"Aye Dr. K can we just chill out today?" Aubrey says chuckling.

I laughed.

"Boy you can chill at home but today you're gonna do this class work"

The whole class bursted into laughter.

"Man that's some booty, you be working us hard Dr. K can you at least let us have some kind of break."

He was kind of right they have been having a lot of essays to write and most of them have been turning them in.

"Mmmmm I'll tell you what maybe you guys can have a chill day."

I heard a bunch of cheering.

I chuckled.

"After y'all do this work now chop chop." I say as I pick of the packets.

"Man you petty." Gentry groans out.

"Like yah mama." I say.

And everybody start being all over dramatic saying ohhhh and stuff laughing all loud.

I just chuckle to myself.
