Y/N's P.O.V
The doorbell rand and Mason immediately released me and Lucas stepped away from the now aware Josh. We went back to our normal demeanors before everything went to hell. I sighed and opened the door to see Seth standing there, grinning broadly as well as sheepishly. I tilted my head to the side.
"If it isn't Mr. Burwoods. How did you find my place?" I asked, slightly concerned about more stalkers. He avoided my gaze for a second before explaining himself.
"W-well, I was driving home when I realized you were my next-door neighbor. I-It's not like I was stalking you.... S-sorry to cause some concern there." He smiled somewhat adorably, and I grinned back.
"Well, my good friend. You certainly have impeccable timing." I thought bitterly as I imagined the possible scenarios that could've occurred. "Saved by the bell, as they say. Although, this is too literal of an event for something so metaphorical." I stepped aside and Seth looked a me curiously.
"Well, since you came all this way, why don't you come join us?" I smiled, wishing upon every shooting star, four-leaf clover, every eyelash and wishbone that he would agree. He hesitated for a minute before nodding. I sighed in relief as he took off his shoes and stepped inside, hanging his coat up on the rack and waiting for me to lead him into the livingroom. I walked in stiffly when I saw Mason and Lucas eye me scornfully, shooting daggers when Seth followed behind.
"Okay, Mason, Lucas, Josh. This is Seth. Seth, these are my.... Roommates." I motioned to each person, wincing slightly when the twins' hard gaze on me intensified. Josh was the first to break the silence when he stood up and stuck his hand out for Seth to shake.
"Pleasure to meet you." He shook his hand firmly, honestly grateful for the close all timing he had in ringing the doorbell. Seth, seemingly oblivious to the tension, grinned and returned the same words. Lucas, followed by Mason, shook his hand rather harshly, leaving it to linger as he squeezed it rather roughly. Mason, who seemed to almost intimidate Seth, slowly reached his hand out, but didn't do anything to hurt the poor boy physically.
We all sat down as I tended to their needs in terms of food and drinks. Our conversation, which started on a rough patch, soon began to flow semi-smoothly as glanced were exchanged throughout the room. While Mason and Josh were busily discussing something, I nudged Seth lightly. He turned to me and I leaned in to whisper into his ear.
"Do you think Josh could stay at your place? I think he's starting to get a bit tired of sleeping on the couch." I lied through my teeth, a small guilt taking over. Seth nodded once and smiled. I cleared my throat, effectively catching the attention of everyone in the room.
"Josh, you're probably getting tired of sleeping on the couch every night, so Seth said it was alright for you to stay at his place." I looked at him, trying to send mental brainwaves telling him to play along. He, thankfully, got the message and nodded. "Thanks Seth. My neck was getting a bit sore from all the weird angles I have to sleep in." I tensed at his word choice, but said nothing. Eventually, Seth and Josh packed a few of his things and walked over to Seth's place. I sighed when I heard a dark voice growl in my ear.
"If you think that'll keep him safe for long, you'd be wrong. All it needs is one slip up."
