When you're about to adopt a dog, but then you realize that you can't. Not because the dog is bad or because they're too vicious, but because they're the biggest, most energetic ball of adorable cuteness that you realize that your schedule won't be sufficient enough in taking care of them. So you cry as you realize that - despite your love for dogs - you cannot keep her. She would be better off with another family, but your heart still goes out for her. You leave her with the toys that she has grown attached to in the very little hours you have spent together, and you try not to burst out crying as you walk away, listening to her whines and yips as she begs you - in her own way - to come back. To take her with you.
Your heart shatters and a part of it drops to the floor, crawling it's way back to the poor dog in hopes that your love for her will never fade. In hopes in reassuring her that it was never her fault you didn't keep her.
If you can't already tell, this is your heart broken Author. Your author who has such an immense amount of love for dogs that I had to write about my feeling otherwise I would be spending an entire week sobbing over the sweetest dog I have ever met.
