New Start (Logan Lerman)

Beverly Hills

Ana's POV


I am all settled in in my new house. It's a three bedroom residence, with 5 bathrooms, and a pool. It was already furnished so it saved me a lot of time and money. I presume that since I'm leaving in the Beverly Hills area reporters would prefer to go after someone famous rather than me. I was right. I am now working in a few projects, and have to finish it by Saturday and show them to my bosses. It's a little bit weird since I haven't met them yet and they hired me. I'm a bit nervous of making a first good impression. I received a few text messages from Emma for the past few days.

"07/15 I went looking for you to find out you were gone.

07/17 Call me when you can, okay?

07/21 Having withdrawal symptoms?"


I finally decided to text her back.

"Hey Em"

"Until finally someone decides to come out of their cave"

"Yeah. Where are you. right now?"

"I'm at the American Apparel in Hollywood... I have to flight back to New York in hours. Why?"

"Let's meet up at Urth Café that's in S Beverly Dr."

"Sure, see you in 10 minutes...".


15 minutes later


Ana's POV

I was having a smoothie when I saw Emma arrive. I said hi to her and she went to order a smoothie. She came back with a smoothie in her hand and sat across from me. Emma tried not to say anything about Finn but after a while it seemed impossible since she was talking about how George asked her to be his girlfriend and how they would make things works despite the distance between them.

"What happened with Finn?" She finally let it out if her system.

I hesitated. "I... I just... I just thought... it wouldn't work out."

Emma stared at me. "You just thought." I didn't know what to say, so I just nodded. She sipped from her smoothie.

"He was making scenes about insignificant things like 'why are you flirting with him?' or 'You still talk to your friend that called you a slut?!' if that was happening when I was back in London, god knows what he would say out of jealousy."

Emma didn't say anything.

"...right now, the last thing I want to know about is dating someone else."



Emma's POV



I saw with the corner of my eye a familiar face enter the Café. I didn't turned around and see who it was.

"Heeeeey Em"

It was Logan. "Hello Logan"


"It's very nice to see you"

Ana looked at him for a second and gave her attention to a her open notebook in front of her.


"It's very nice to see you, too."


Logan had his hands on his trouser pockets whilst lifting his shoulders. He was looking at Ana and me.

"Logan, this is Ana Ferragamo..."

Ana stretched her hand and Logan grasped Ana's hand.

"Ana, this is Logan Lerman."

They were still shaking hands.

"May I have my hand back?" Ana smiled.

"Yeah...sure. I'm sorry" Logan blushed.

"What are you doing Logan?"

"What do you mean?" He seemed a little bit nervous.

"I meant to ask you if you were busy"

He chuckled. "No, I'm just, you know, walking around trying to be as normal as possible."

"Would you like to join us?"

He nodded,"Yeah. Sure. Let me order something to drink. Would you like something?"

I shook my head,"No, Thank you..."

Ana didn't even noticed that Logan left. I sat there quietly as Ana was looking through her work notes on her small notebook. Seconds later Logan was sitting with us. Ana didn't realised that I invited Logan to seat with us that she jerked her hand and spilled her smoothie.

Her phone was on the table ringing but she ignored it and quickly got up to get some napkins. I grabbed Ana's notebook to prevent it from being covered in smoothie. Logan and I were listening to a melody


*"Don't wanna fight, Don't wanna die. Just wanna hear you cry. Who's gonna throw the very first stone. Oh! who's gonna reset the bone. Walking with your head in a sling Want to hear the soldier sing."*

Ana came back with a handful of napkins and then the melody stopped. Only to our notice that it was her cellphone's ringtone.

"It's okay, answer it... I'll take care of it." I said, seconds later she walked away and I started to clean up. "Whoa. She likes Arcade Fire?" Logan asked as he grabbed Ana's notebook a cleaned a bit of smoothie from it. I nodded. "Uh. Have you talked to Amy?" I looked up and looked straight at his big blue eyes. "Why?"

"Just asking" he replied. "Haven't you seen her?" he shook his head as he opened a bit of Ana's notebook and clean smoothie that managed to make its way into it. "Not since she broke up with me, two or three weeks ago."

I grabbed all of the napkins and threw them to the rubbish bin.

"What's with all the math equations?" He whispered. "She's a structural engineer."

Ana was walking towards us and Logan placed her notebook down. "Sorry about that..." She said.

Denise was behind Ana and said,"Emma, we have to go..."

I got up and hugged Logan and Ana goodbye.

I whispered into Ana's ear, "He's an amazing kisser" Ana replied indifferently,"that's great."

Finn's POV

Jack and I have been having a pretty amazing time. I brought Sofia along.

We were watching the sun set together. It was so beautiful. It reminded me of Ana. I don't know why. But, I'm trying to forget about her. I guess she thought it would be easy. I just wonder if she has forgotten about me completely.

We are now on our way to go to the club. Sofia is very beautiful, I know it's wrong but I hope she helps me forget about Ana.


Ana's POV

After Emma left I was left alone with Logan. He seemed very nervous and was getting a little bit sweaty. "I'm sorry, Logan... I have to go." He managed to say something. "Yeah. Okay. Uh...Hey...um...listen, sometimes it can get a little bit lonely here. Maybe we can hang out ...some... some other... time?"

Logan was right. All I have done was work and I was starting to feel pretty lonely. Back in San Diego I had Daniel, now I know nobody to hang out with. Maybe he can introduce me to his friends and things wouldn't feel as empty as now.
I gave him my cellphone number and said goodbye to him.
