Hello, this is where this story changes a bit because I started moving on from it. Sorry if it's jarring!
Mabel's POV:
The soft words spoken by all my classmates kept me from falling asleep, but also made me tired at the same time. I'd have my head resting on my arms, eyes closed, hoping no one would talk to me for the remaining minutes of our last period.
I still wasn't used to school, even a month in. My eyes always felt heavy and I even had dark circles underneath them to prove it. That was easily fixed with a little smear of makeup, though.
A gentle touch on my shoulder had me sitting back into an upright position. "Yeah?" I blurted out on instinct.
"Oh, sorry, Mabel." It was one of my friends, Gabe. He smiled, bringing out the homework I paid him to do. "I just wanted to ask if I could have another sheet of your handwriting. I... kind of lost the other one." He laughed sheepishly.
"Oh. Sure." Right as I handed him the paper I did a few days ago, the bell rang, and everyone started to bustle out of the room excitedly.
Slinging my backpack over one shoulder, I started the short walk through the hall to the outside. My friends and I carpooled to save gas money and I didn't want to make them wait too long for me. As I was walking, I found myself next to a senior that had so many rumors about him. Eren.
I ached to know more.
Eren's POV:
Another day closer to graduation, I'd think to myself. Another day closer to getting out of this school, I'd say. After a month in, I've learned that if someone finds something out about you the entire school will know within a couple days. I'd had never experienced rumors first-hand until now, and the biggest hassle about them are the ones that are blatantly untrue.
"Hey," a girl said. I looked at her. "Is it true you're dating some famous punk rock dude?"
"Sure," I said. I always said sure. It was a way to say yes without saying yes.
"Oh. Okay, thank you." She turned a corner and disappeared within the rainbow river of different people all trying to leave the school at once.
"That makes two today," I mumbled, pushing slightly so I could get to the door. This school had a problem with the amount of students they had in such a small place.
"Hey! Eren!" Mikasa shouted over the heads of other students. She took my arm, and I helped her through the door. "Thanks. Oh, and Levi texted me that he's gonna pick you-" She stopped when she saw the guy she was talking about being mobbed, behind him his flashy sports car.
"He's a smart one," I remarked with a smirk and a hue of red taking over my cheeks.
As we neared the crowd, Levi pushed some people out of the way to allow me to his car after he saw us. He looked excited and happy. I hadn't seen him in forever, so seeing him made my chest ache.
"Hello, Eren. Mikasa, too," he greeted, allowing me into the passenger seat.
I smiled the whole time as he shooed the many people away from his vehicle so he could drive. A few people had their phones out; probably on Snapchat.
"So how was school?" he asked. I laughed slightly, amused that he'd start conversation regarding school for whatever reason.
"School was fine. How was your gig?"
"Just like every other one."
I frowned. "That's a sort of mean way to put it."
"I'm just being honest."
