Chapter 13- But I didn't want to die

Daryl POV:

I woke up early the next morning. I didn't sleep that last night after the Shane incident and Bella's confession. I sat up in bed and looked next to me to see a sleeping Bella that looked so peaceful. I grabbed my muddy boots and put them on along with a wife beater and a sleeveless flannel. I stood up and went to the bathroom washing my face and brushing my teeth. I walked to the door and opened it quietly and walked down to the kitchen. I listened to Glenn complain about his hangover and T-dog giving him some eggs to help. I grabbed a beer and walked to the table and sat down. Shane, Rick, Lori, and Carl walked in all laughing. I glared at Shane who gave me daggers in return. They sat down and T-dog gave us all eggs. Andrea, Dale, and Doctor Genner walked in next and were having what seemed to be a rather important conversation. I got up and walked over to the stove with eggs. I dished some eggs on a plate and grabbed a fork and headed out the kitchen to my room to wake up Bella. I passed Carol and a sleepy Sofia on the way. I walked to our room and opened the door to find Bella not on the bed. I started panic not knowing where she was made me worried, even after what she said last night. I walked over to the closed bedroom and heard water on but no noise. "Bella?" I asked as panic arose. "Bella!" I yelled still no answer. I backed up and started kick the door that gave way. Bella stood on the other side completely shocked. "That's that second time you did that, gosh Daryl I'm fine." She exclaimed. I looked at her dressed body and realized how gorgeous she really was. I don't know what came over me. I walked in the bathroom and shut the door. "What are you doing." She asked scared. I reached forward and slightly caressed her cheek before I grabbed the back of her neck and forcefully kissed The kiss soon turned to a soft passionate kiss. She finally kissed me back. I reached my hands down and picked her up setting her on the counter. She wrapped her soft arms around me and gently tugged at my hair. It started to get a little heated, when she stopped. "Daryl, please don't." Bella whispered. I gently set her back on the ground and walked away opening the door and shutting it again. You idiot she would never love someone like you. "Theirs breakfast on the bed for you." I said walking away "Everyone's in the kitchen." I walked out the door and back down to the kitchen. "So Doc. don't mean to ask questions first---" Dale started. "But you will anyway." Doc interrupted. I sat down in the kitchen and listen to them talk. "So, what happened where are all the other doctors?"Rick asked this time. "It's just me and Vi. At first when things started happening some doctors went home to be with their family, but when things got worst they all started to leave running out the front doors and some couldn't handle what awaited them so they opted out." Genner explained. "Who is Vi?" Rick asked. "Vi say hello to our guest say welcome." Genner instructed. "Hello guest Welcome." I computer voice said. "Vi bring up TS19." Genner said. "Bringing up TS19." Vi said. "So this is the brain. All of those let blue things is your life everything you remember and all that you've done. Vi fast forward to regeneration." Genner said. Bella walked in and stood by her mom who explained what was going on. " Now that the brain has died and is restarting. You see that red glob down there, that's the stem restarting it's self. The only difference being is that everything and anyone you were is gone. You can only function." Genner explained. The video played and we watched as something went through the brain........a bullet. "TS19 was your wife." Andrea more stated then asked. "Yes." Genner responded bluntly. "What happens in twenty minutes, when the clock reaches zero?" Dale asked. "The generators shut off." Genner lied. "VI what happens in twenty minutes?" Rick asked the computer. "Decontamination will occur the air will catch fire and destroy everything within a mile radius." VI explained as if it were nothing. "Glenn, Jim, T-dog, Shane, and Dale follow me were gonna check the generators." They followed Rick out the room leaving me with the women. I didn't trust this guy, something was off. "Everybody pack your stuff quickly were getting out of here." Rick yelled. Genner reached over and put a pin in a key pad the door instantly closed leaving us locked in here like caged animals. "Open the door doc." Rick yelled. "But isn't this easier, it will only take a second you won't feel anything. You won't have to face this cruel world or whats left of it." Genner reasoned. I grabbed an axe and walked to the door, I kept swinging as I thought about Bella and her safety. Carol was clutching to Sophia begging Genner to let us go. All the men were trying to get out and Lori was trying to be queen bee again. What concerned me though was Bella, she was just sitting their like she didn't care if she died...........because she still wanted too, she won't admit it but she wants to. I stop swinging the axe when I heard her voice. "Mother won't you just shut up. Everything is gone. Your excuse of a husband. Everything is gone." She yelled. "Your dad was better then what you thin,you didn't give him enough credit." Carol defended her dead husband. "You bitch, you don't know what he did to me when you were gone. If were gonna be honest and if were gonna die then i'm gonna say it. He abused me, I took so many beatings to defend your daughter, because you refused too, which lead to more beatings. In gym I could never change in the locker room afraid someone would see my scars my bruises he left. Did you know i'm not a virgin? He used to sell my body for a little extra dough. He raped me when I was fourteen and then put Sophia in a box because she tried to get help. He made her watch Carol. You never did anything, and you knew I could tell by the jealousy in your eyes. I hate you I wish you weren't my mom. I used to cut my wrist. I wanted to die, and I would have but Sophia would've been left. Today I'm gonna die and i'm ready, I want to I can't live with everything he has done to me." Bella yelled. She was actually crying and I've only seen her cry once. Everyone stood in shock at what she said. I did. I didn't even know that I had dropped the axe. My heart literally broke. It made my blood boil with anger. I grabbed the axe and kept swinging. "The door is to with stand a rocket luncher." Genner said matter-of-factly. I turned around angrier then last time. I charged at the doctor with the axed raised. "Yea but yer' head ain't." I yelled. T-dog grabbed the axe out of my hands and Shane put me in another head lock. "Are ya done?" Rick asked. I struggled a little bit but then nodded my head. "Doctor genner were only asking for a chance." Rick pleaded. "Fine but I already told yea once that door closes it doesn't open again." Genner said putting a pin in the keypad and opening the door. I ran to our room grabbing everything even the bathroom necessities. I ran back to the lab. Bella was just sitting there. "Come on Bella, we gotta go, now." I said grabbing her hand she didn't budge though. Fine I can be just as stubborn. I sat down in the seat across from her. "Daryl, what are ya doin. I don't want you here, go." She said looking away. "I don't care, if your gonna die your not gonna die alone, I will die with you." I said. "Whatever lets go, only cause i'm not gonna have your blood on my hands." She said angrily. We ran to the front to see the glass broke. We jumped out and everyone was honking their horns and yelling for us to hurry. I grabbed Bella and jumped behind a barrier and shielded her body with my own. The blast ended and we got in my truck and started off on the road again.
