First time again-52

Daryl's POV: 

I arrived back at Alexandria with Morgan and Aaron. Just as we had a arrived we heard a gunshot and ran to the source. Approaching the scene, I see Rick pointing a gun at a now dead Pete, Deanna holding a dead Reg, while crying hysterically. "Rick?" Morgan says questioningly, I just look at the scene before me not knowing what to say. I look around looking for Bella, but I don't see her. 

"Where's Bella?" I questioned. Everyone looks up to me but only Glenn steps forward. 

"There was an accident." Glenn began.

"What kind of accident?" I question, cutting off Glenn. 

"She's alive, I'll take you to her." Glenn says leading the way. I follow Glenn to the infirmary. Walking through the doors and down the hall, I step into a room where I see an unconscious Bella, laying motionless, with the kids on either side of her. 

"Glenn?" I questioned in a stern voice. He asked me to sit down, at first I didn't want to but in the end I did, I listened to him as he began to explain everything that I had missed. I was pissed when he told me about Nicholas, and I wanted nothing more then to snap his little neck, but I knew Bella need me and that I needed to be here when she woke up. Glenn left the room and I pulled the chair I was sitting in up to her bedside, I grabbed her hand it held it tightly. It was so cold it almost scared me. I laid my head on the bed, and grabbed Neveah as she stirred, cuddling her close to me.

I quickly fell into a dreamless sleep. I awoke the next morning to my hand being gripped tightly and Neveah tugging at my hair. I groaned, "Neveah Lynn knock it off." I said as I slowly picked my head up. 

"Mommy's awake! Mommy's awake!" She screeched. I shot my head up faster and looked to Bella's pale face, she smiled weakly at me. She tried to tell me she was thirsty so I order Bailey to go get her some water. I stood up and kissed her forehead like it was the last kiss I would ever give her. Bailey comes running in with water, almost spilling it and hands it to his mom gently. She gulps down the water and I have to remind her to take small sips, so she doesn't make herself sick.  She sets the cup down and embraces both the kids and kisses the tops of there heads. She looks to me and I lean down to meet her lips, I kiss her gently. I pull away and just look at her and the kids. "What happened?" She asked softly. I explained the story that Glenn told me, and the anger and hatred that I had felt for Nicholas, she ushers the kids off to go play with the others and to do some of there schooling. 

I sit down beside and she grabs my hand squeezing it, I look down to her and give her a weak smile. "I'm here now, that's all that matters." 

"I know but what if something happened and you hadn't pulled through. I wouldn't be able to carry on." I said to her seriously. 

"Daryl there will come a day that I will die," I opened my mouth to object, but she gives me a look that says she's not done, "There will come a day and when that day comes, you must carry on for the kids, for this world, for all that we have gone through, and for me. It'll be hard but you have to. I would have to do the same, it doesn't matter if this world takes us or if old age does, cause one day something will happen." I said he nods his head and just kisses the top of my head. We are interrupted when Rick comes in, "How you feeling sport?" Rick asked. 

"I'm ok, what about you?" Bella said to Rick lifting her eyebrow.

"I'm ok," Rick said sighing heavily, "Can I speak with you in the hallway Daryl?" Rick asked me. I nodded my head and stepped in the hallway following Rick, "What's up?" I asked biting my nail.

"Dianne is leaving the power in our heads after what happened with Reg. Fill Bella in on the details, also meet me in the square in about thirty we have a group of walkers to lead away from Alexandria." Rick said checking over his shoulder to make sure no one else was listening. I nodded my head. Me and Rick part way and as I head to Bella I see Glenn and Nicholas stagger into the infirmary all bloody. I run up to the grabbing Nicholas, while Maggie grabs Glenn. "What happened?" I asked carrying Nicholas to a bed. "We were attacked by walkers." Glenn said looking to me, and I did not believe a word that he just said. I just Glenn a look that says we will talk.

"Right..." I said, "While Rick needs my help down by the quarry so I'm gonna say bye to Bella." I said walking back to Bella. I walked in her room, and grabbed her hand.

"Hey baby." She said looking up at me.

"I have to go help Rick, but he wanted me to tell you about last night. Last night Dianne had a town meeting about our group and how Rick was out of control. Rick was late to the meeting because he found a walker wondering inside the community, he killed and brought it to the meeting saying how people would have died if it wasn't for our group. Pete had stole Michonne's sword from the armory and was going to kill Rick but Reg got in the way and Pete slit Reg's throat and Dianne gave Rick permission to kill Reg. You missed a lot but Dianne trust us and she's leaving the community in our hands. She wants you and Glenn to take charge of the runs for now on. I have to help Rick down in the quarry so I will see you later. I love you baby." I said kissing Bella's head.

Bella's pov;

It was a lot to process what Daryl told me, but it was also a good thing. My body was still sore so fell back asleep, while I awaited the return of Daryl.
