Ash.
"Louis, that isn't going to fix anything. It'll only make matters worse," she mumbles hopelessly.
"You can't let him control you for the rest of your life. You deserve to go out and have fun. You deserve to be happy."
"Yeah, yeah, I know. I just need some time first, is all," she replies. She searches the cabinets for Doritos. Once she finds them, she settles her backside against her kitchen counter and stares at Louis while she chomps on a few of them. He only stares back. "I hate her," she says.
He nods, "You shouldn't. You're better than her."
"I just-- I want to know why, you know? Why her? Why not me?"
"Ashton, it is you. He loves you," Louis explains. She won't take that though. She shakes her head, eyes adverting to the bag in her hand. She continues eating her chips. "He was selfish, you know that. I don't think we should talk about it anymore," he says.
She shakes her head again, "I just want to know what it's like. She must feel amazing. To be the girl he chooses. Even if it was a one time thing, he still chose her."
"Ashton--"
"No, it's not fair," she sits her bag on the counter beside her, making direct eye contact with him. "I want to be her. I want everything that she has if it means I get him."
Louis steps closer, "Alright, stop it."
"No, no I won't. I won't stop, Louis. I'm serious. I want to know what was so alluring about her. Why he chose some-- some whore over--" she stops herself, hiding her face in her hands. Don't get worked up about this.
Louis is quick to pull her into his arms, hugging her tightly. She cries silently into her hands. "Over me," she whispers brokenly. Louis rubs her back, fighting the tears himself. Why did Harry choose that girl over Ash? Why did Eleanor do the same thing to him?
--
After hours of crying and convincing, Louis finally made her agree to going. She was nervous and she felt like utter shit for it. Just because she wasn't with Harry didn't mean she had meet up with other men.
This wasn't her. It definitely wasn't her. But Louis promised it was a good guy. She didn't even know the guy's name. She could kill Louis for even convincing her.
You have nothing to lose.
Two minutes after finishing up, Louis knocked on her door. She greets him warmly before the both walk to the elevator and later out of the building.
It was a double date of some form. Louis knew this girl and she was friends with the guy Ashton was meeting. Louis felt the same way Ashton felt for meeting up with these people on this double date. He would force himself though. Ashton deserved this. He deserved this.
They entered an all-too-familiar club and Ash could feel her stomach churn. Louis spotted them instantly, waving a hand as he drug her towards a booth. She was searching for them, not really knowing who to look for.
Once they reach a booth her eyes immediately scan the girl's face. She's cute and definitely suited Louis. She glances over to the other side of the booth, doing a double take. "Jake?" She exhales.
What had Louis done?
--
They all had shots, repeatedly, except for Ash. She was more than miserable because even though Jake was probably the most interesting person in the world, she knew deep down that Harry didn't like this guy when they first met. She knew he wasn't as interesting as Harry even though he had traveled the world and met famous artist and such.
