The Bet

Chapter Ten

~Kalani's POV~

I sort of wonder where summer is.. I mean I know she went to go talk to Kevin and Daniel but I didn't expect for her to be away this long. I like Devin and all but I mostly only flirting with because of Summer I need to be alone with him if he's ever going to actually know me.

"So did you like the show?" Devin asks

"Of course you and the boys have mad talent" I say with a smile

"Hey lovebirds" Summer smirks as she wraps her arm around my shoulders

"Yo Dev can I talk to you for a minute?" Danny asks as he walks over to us followed by Kevin

"Sure" Devin says with a shrug he sends me a wink and walks away with Daniel leaving just Summer, Kevin, and I

"I don't think I've talked to you much Kev what's up?" I smile

"Just chillin ma" He shrugs with a smile

"I never really expected you to be so quiet Kev.. are you sure your just 'chillin'?" Summer asks, I glare at her for trying to expect more of Kevin he's just quiet..

"Yeah.. what else would be up.." He says sounding more nervous.. this is something I hate about Summer she sees right through people.

"Summer leave him alone go onto your phone or something" I huff giving Kevin a sympathetic smile.

"Fine but I know what I'm talking about" She warns walking away from us

"Sorry about Summer"

"It's cool.. I don't understand where she was really getting with all of that" He says

"She's just weird" I shrug

"Mhmm" He hums "So.. uh-"

"I'm done talking to Danny what I miss?" Devin asks, I look over at him as he wraps his arm around my waist. I feel myself blush and I quickly look away.

"N.. nothing I need to talk to um.. uh.. Daniel" Kevin says quickly and heads back over to him

"That was weird.." Devin says

"Yeah.. It was" I say in confusion, Devin and I get back to talking about random things throwing in obvious flirting once in a while but I keep getting distracted.. it feels like someone is watching me but Kevin is talking to Daniel and Summer is like on Twitter or something so I don't understand.

Back at the hotel Summer and I get settled and she has this smug look on her telling me she knows something.

"Okay what is it Summer" I groan tossing a throw pillow onto the floor

"Kevin likes you! This is perfect" She laughs hysterically

"What? No he doesn't!"

"Yes he does this just makes the bet so much more fun!"

"Summer your psychotic I already chose who I'm going after so why mess with Kevin?"

"Because it's fun! come on!" She whines I roll my eyes at her immaturity and ignore her "Listen bitch it's just a stupid ass bet how many times do I need to tell you they don't actually care they literally have girls falling at their feet so what makes you and I different from the rest of them?" She snaps

"You said Devin likes me.." I say quietly I decide to keep my back towards her or she'll probably say something even more harsh..

"Because you're playing him! Don't you get it Lani?! Your just as bad as anyone else and you're going to play Kevin even if you don't mean it"

"I'm not going to play Kevin"

"Oh trust me you are.. you're already giving him the wrong impression now go to bed we have a date with the boys tomorrow"

"Whatever Summer" I sigh crawling into bed and facing the window why did she just get into my head like that?

I'm not going to play Kevin and I'm not giving him the wrong impression I want us to be friends I like Devin and Devin likes me once this bet is over I'll.. I don't know make things official between Devin and I so Summer can't do anything about it and maybe she'll get someone to be out of my hair.. this bet will work out perfectly fine.
