The Bet

Chapter Twenty Seven

Kalani's POV
I go with summer to her room and I immediately start crying, I know  what you're thinking why am I crying but I'm so mad at Emiliana for running her mouth! She had no right to go and spread my business like that! I mean yes what I did was wrong but UGH! Dammit Emiliana. I decide to go talk to someone other than staying in this room angry. I walk to Lexi's room and knock on the door
" hey lani what's wrong?" Lexi asks while pulling me inside
" drama.. Again" I say sighing
" tell me what's wrong" she said sitting me down
" ok so I was out with summer at Starbucks and we talking about how me dating Devin was just a bet and Emiliana was there and she heard everything, so goes back to the hotel and tells Devin about the bet! Like what right does she have tell everyone! She ruined everything for me"I say shaking my head
" She has very much of every right to tell! I mean you're playing my brother and your mad that she told?! Lani do you know what your doing? My brother liked you sooo much and your just going to do that to him?!? And you're mad Emiliana for telling! Put yourself her shoes! Imagine someone was playing someone you loved, would you go tell? You would because you don't want to see that person hurt, lani you're acting really selfish right now and I can't believe you" Lexi says while shaking her head at me
I sit there and think about what Lexi said and she's right.. My goal was never to hurt Devin.. It was just a dumb bet that backfired on me tremendously.
" you're right... Ugh I fucked up bad! I really want to apologize to dev but I don't think we would forgive me" I say putting my head down
" let him calm down first... Matter of fact let everyone cool down and maybe you can try apologizing to him" Lexi said
" thanks lex" I say walking to the door
" no problem.. Remember what I said" she calls out
I leave and walk back down stairs to Summer's room to talk about our apology
" summer... We have to apologize! I can't just walk around like everything is fine" I say
" I know! I feel so guilty" she said
" we should start off with Emiliana" I say
" why? She's the one that started this! If she just kept her mouth shut none of this would be happening" she says getting angry
" no no no this is our fault... She was only doing the right thing.... We need to apologize, now let's go" I say
I get up and walk to the boys room to see if Emiliana is still there, I knock and wait for someone to open.  When the door opens it Kevin
" hey.. Is Emiliana still in there?" I ask
" yeah..... This is not a good time tho" kev says
" I know but I need to apologize" I say desperately
" fine... Come on" he says stepping aside to let us in
Summer and I walk in and everyone looks up
" what are y'all doing here! Have you done enough?" Daniel says
" we are here to apologize.." I say shyly
" Emiliana I am SO sorry we know you were only doing the right thing and it wasn't right for me to just to put on the blame on you like that... I hope you can forgive me" I say
She continues to look out the window and doesn't say a word. I sigh and turn to Devin
" dev.... I'm extremely sorry for playing with your emotions like that and I know you think my feelings for you aren't real now but they are! I really do like you dev" I say giving him a small smile
Devin looks up at me and just stares for awhile... He gets up and walks to the door to leave, he opens the door but before he leaves he turns around and says
" your apology.. Bullshit! Your just upset that you got caught! How long was this was going to go on? You made me look stupid lani! I feel like a damn fool putting my time and energy into you when this was all just bet! If the goal was to hurt me, congratulations you just played yourself. Delete my number and stay away from me and all my friends! I never want to see you again" he leaves and slams the door
