Y/N;

I sat down on the little patio table alone, steering the paper cup in my hand. It was Monday morning, and since I woke up today with no motivation today whatsoever- i decided to treat myself to a coffee. I deserve a break every now and then after all.

The coffee shop was quiet. People coming in and out with their coffees. Some in a hurry. At the corner of my eye; i noticed a couple siting together, quietly chatting as they ate their blue-berry muffins as I assume. I felt happy for them. Must be nice having a partner; someone to talk to; someone to laugh with; someone to share all your secrets with; kind of like a best friend- but more.

Unfortunately, I was not interested. I thought it was cute. Seeing such a young couple, growing more in love by the day. Although I never saw myself with anyone. I sure had boyfriends here and there, but I never took it seriously. It was always a joke for me if I just knew that it would not last, and it never did. I guess I am more of an independent person.

I felt my phone vibrate in my bag as my ringtone went off. I quickly took it out my bag to see my best friend, Josie calling. We me on my first day at work and boy who knew we would end up being very close. I pressed my thumb onto the green icon as soon as I read her name.

"Hey, Josie! What's up?" I said onto the phone cheerfully.

"What's up?! Are you serious right now?! Where are you?! You're late for the meeting!" She scolded.

That's when it hit me that I lost track of time. "Shit!" i cussed under my breath as I quickly grabbed my things in one hand and the coffee in the other and got up, lashing out the door hurriedly. "I'm on my way right now!" With hat being said i hung up and continued my walk.

My pace then became speed walking as i started thinking of how much my boss would yell at me for being late... again. My boss was one mean lady.

There was a slight breeze bin the weather which made locks of my hair wind on to face. It was hard removing it away with all the things i was carrying. And specially with the fact that the streets were very busy, it did not become easier for me. Well, what do you expect from a city street?

I then was bumped by a tall, muscular body which caused the coffee in my hand to spill all over my top and the cup onto the ground. I felt the burning sensation going down through my chest as I stooped down to get the cup on the ground.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry." A rough voice said coming from above me.

"It's okay." i said bluntly, still not looking up. When i straightened myself up, i had clear vision as to who is in front of me. Without even thinking, my eyes immediately made contact his hazel ones. Until he started again.

"i totally ruined your shirt. Sorry about that." He stated, now chill and sill looking straight into my eyes. "Now i have to buy you a new shirt." he continued, now a smirk forming on his lips.

"No, I said it's okay. I'm late for work anyway." I replied shyly.

"You cant go to work like that." He argued.

"I have a jacket in my bag. I change into it."

"It's not that cold, you'll get hot." he shot back, still calm and the smirk still plastered on his face.

"I said I have to go, sir." I said before walking off, not giving him a chance to reply.

...

I walked out the big skyscraper's gate. I got yelled at my boss, but at least that's over. I continued on with my walk, step after step until I paused when hearing someone call my name. My head immediately shifted to the source of the familiar voice, and saw the man who bumped into a couple hours ago approaching me.

"How do you know my name?" I asked, a bit scared.

"I asked the girl who you walked in with a couple hours ago." He answered. Josie, that damn bitch.

"How did you know where I work?" I asked another question, now more tensed.

"I followed you when you took off. But didn't stop you since I knew you were late." He replied. Now that's creepy.

"You've been waiting here the whole time?" Now i was a bit angry, firing questions at him.

"Yeah, basically." He answered, smiling now as if we're long friends.

I did not reply to that. I stayed quiet, keeping a straight face on. he noticed my sense of discomfort and started talking again.

"I think we got off the wrong foot here. I'm Zayn Malik, and you are Y/N as i heard." he smiled now widely.

"What do you want?" I asked bluntly again as his smile was replaced with a frown.

"Look, I just want to replace your ruined shirt that i'm responsible of." He sighed.

"You're not responsible for it. I'm the one who should have been careful."

"You argue a lot for a pretty girl," I blushed at what he said. He just called me pretty. "Awwwh look you're blushing. You do have a heart after all." He smiled again now leaning down to my height.

I blushed even more when he said, "You're cute when you blush."

"Thanks." I just said, now a smile spread on my face as I looked down shyly.

"Do you have any plans today?"

"No." I simply answered.

"Wanna go out for dinner then?" He's asking me on a date.

"But I don't even know you." I laughed, a confused expression on my face.

"So?" he smiled.

"So? You could be a psycho kidnapper or something." I laughed even more.

"Pretend that this is just a blind date your friend fixed you with. If everything goes well, we go on a second date. And if not, we don't talk to each other again." He replied. I was honestly a bit shocked of how good at convincing he is. And I was even more shocked when i found myself agreeing to his offer.

"Okay." I blushed.
