He fixed his eyes on the road. He knew what Scully was thinking. 'Why is this num-nut taking me to some random place in Nebraska to find aliens that probably don't exist.' He smirked at the thought. But he was sure this time. Sure that this woman will have more answers then Cancer Man, then Alex Kryachek, or even Scully. All he could think about was seeing this woman, who doesn't even look a day over 30, and hearing her story.
He went over the proof he had in his head. He did a background check and she was born in 1940, she had lived in Spring View, Nebraska for more then 10 years, and she had endless medical records of hospitalization because of unexplained injuries. She was everything an abductee could be.
Even the thought made him gitty.
He looked over at Scully. She was peaceful, sitting there looking out the window at the world like she could stare right through it. Her baby blue eyes fixated on the stars with a longing look he remembered once having.
As they got to the airport Scully got back to reality and called AD Skinner.
"We are going to Spring View, Nebraska...Yes I know," Scully looked at him, "Yes sir...Our reports will be in by Friday...Goodbye."
He sighed, "That's only four days, not nearly enough time."
"Guess we will have to get our butts in gear," Scully shrugged and got out of the car.
They got out of the car and turned their bags into checking then went into the airport. As they got to their gate Scully went to the food court and he found them some seats.
He closed his eyes and imagined seeing everything he wanted. He dreamed of the aliens. Dreamed of his sister and dad. He dreamed of a perfect world were he and his friends and family didn't have to search for the truth but it rather just be there for them to see.
He opened his eyes to see his gate boarding but no Scully in sight. He stood up and looked around. Still no Scully. 'Where is she,' he thought, 'She is never late to our gate.' At that very moment he knew something was wrong.
