Chapter 11
Goodbyes and Hellos
The Doctor slung his arm around Ailia's shoulders, Peck hurrying to scuttle over to the Doctor's free arm.
"How'd you do it?" the Doctor asked as they began walking.
"A protective layer used in the vortex manipulator put into effect on a mass scale," Ailia said simply, trying to turn back to look at the spot were the Hoyle once stood.
"Ah," the Doctor said, leading her away from the sight.
The Doctor stopped at the sight of a river, looking down at Ailia who stared straight ahead.
"You're not going to stay, are you?" he asked Ailia.
"No," she answered softly, all the spunk from earlier seeming to drain away.
"Well, then. You're going to need this," the Doctor said, handing her the vortex manipulator.
Ailia looked up at him, surprised, "You're not going to say that the very fact that it exists in this time period is probably enough to rip a whole in time?"
"Nah," the Doctor shook his head and Ailia allowed a laugh.
"Then, I guess I'll see you around, Doc," Ailia smiled, picking up the vortex manipulator from him and turning around.
"Hey," the Doctor exclaimed, pretending to be offended.
"What?" Ailia said slyly.
The Doctor's eyebrows rose above his forehead.
"Just kidding ya, Doc," Ailia stepped forward, hugging him.
Pulling away she took a step back, giving him a salute before reaching down to her vortex manipulator and pressing a button.
Home, she was going home. Hope to see you soon, Amelia.

Slowly, she opened her eyes, having clenched them shut when traveling, worry and anticipation eating her insides. What would Amy do? Would she hate her? She would call Ailia by her real name, but Ailia did know if she would like it as much as she had. Ailia Mar. Had a nice ring to it. What about the Hoyle? Were they really gone? She had been the one to set the coordinates, but she might have missed a few. What if Amy really wasn't safe?
What she saw when opened them was not what she was expecting, how surprising.
A hospital, a big white sterical, terrifying hospital. It might have been safe to say that life hated her.
Pain flashed through her arm and she yelped, jumping at the burning sensation running through the appendage. The vortex manipulator had scorched her arm.
"Verdammt dieses Scheiß Vortex Manipulator. Ich wusste, ich hätte dem blöden Mann nicht trauen sollen. Brauchst dich nicht darum zu sorgen, dass du ein Loch ins Raum Kontinuum reißt, sagte er. Blöd, blöd, blöd," Ailia muttered to herself, holding her arm tight to her chest.
(Translation: Damn this vortex manipulator. I knew I shouldn't have trusted that stupid man. No need to worry about ripping a whole in the space time continuem, he said. Stupid, stupid....Guys please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't take or speak German, very well anyways, I just got this off of google.)
A man paused mid-stride when he heard this, and turned around a strange look on his face, "Pardon?"
Ailia looked over at the man, confusion warping her features when she saw the Doctor. His brown hair spiked up matching the childish converse that he wore with his suit.
