Mistakes [Second Book]

Daniel's POV
*continuing on from the last chapter of Virgin*

"Well, it all started the day you played truth or dare with us. When we found out you were a virgin and Joey had fucked almost every guy on campus, it was a mission. He had to have sex with you. So, I came up with the idea of the bet. Before you say anything, I completely regret it." Sawyer begins, my eyes stinging with tears.

"It started off as an immature joke. We just wanted to see if he could manage to steal your virginity within a month. Of course, we didn't think he would. I knew you'd be a hard nut to crack. Then suddenly one day, his whole demeanour changed. He became slightly softer, and he grew obsessed with winning the bet. He would beg me to give him more time once the month was almost up because he knew you weren't ready. All along, he respected your own comfort. But when the time came for you guys to have sex, he was already prepared. He had the camera set up for days, only one click of a button before he'd have the evidence of you guys. The day he gave it to me, you should've seen him. He looked terrible. I knew right then and there that I should've never made him continue on even when I could tell he was falling for you." Sawyer finishes, his voice cracking slightly. No matter how much I want to hate Sawyer right now, he made the effort to discuss this with me.

The tears begin streaming down my face once again, and out of the corner of my eye I see Sawyer peeking over at me.

"It'll be okay, Daniel. I'm not going to tell you to forgive Joey, or me, but I can tell you it'll work out in the end. It always does." he tells me, taking his eyes off the road for a moment so he could look at me.

I turn my head to face him, attempting to smile, but I just can't bring myself to do it.
