Daniel's POV

I sit in the driver's seat of my car, Joey beside me. His hand is resting on my inner thigh, running along it gently. It's slightly distracting as I drive down the busy streets, but I try my hardest to ignore the act. I smile, feeling at bliss. Everything is the way it should be...finally.

"I love you," I hear Joey whisper, and I turn my head for a brief moment to look at him.

"I love you too." I reply, turning back to the road, becoming closer to our destination; the hospital.

I feel him squeeze my thigh gently as I pull into the parking lot, finding myself a spot. We both hop out of the car and he immediately grips onto my hand tightly, placing a sweet kiss on my cheek as we walk towards the building.

"Homos!" I suddenly hear a booming voice, catching both of our attention. I don't say anything, getting prepared to ignore the random stranger and continue on. But Joey has other plans.

"Yeah? So what? Why are you calling us out for loving someone? That's like me yelling at you, 'Hetero'. There's no fucking difference. So shut the fuck up." he snaps, and I see the stranger open his mouth to speak, closing it immediately and storming off.

I giggle, stepping closer to Joey and kissing the top of his head.

"You're cute when you're mad, you know." I say, Joey turning his head to look at me. His expression is angry, but immediately softens when he looks at me.

"You're always cute." he replies, and I blush.

We continue to walk hand in hand, stepping into the building and checking in. We take a seat in the waiting area, our hands still intertwined.

"I've gotta head to the bathroom quickly. If they call you while I'm in there, I'll be waiting right out here when you get back, okay?" I whisper, and he nods.

"Do you want me to come with you?" he asks, a smirk playing at his lips. I blush, glaring at him jokingly.

"No, Joseph, I'm fine." I giggle, and he glares at the name.

I stand up, heading towards the bathroom. As I turn the corner, my heart stops. I see a bulky figure, and a familiar face I once had the pleasure of seeing, as they consistently beat me to a pulp all through high school.

Maybe I should've taken Joey with me.
