Recap:
Daniel is trapped in Christian's basement, injured, while Joey is unconscious at the hospital with severe injuries. Christian desperately wants to get rid of Joey and has gotten Preston to team up with him.

Daniel's POV

Christian walks away, leaving me in my current state of being. Tears have stained my pink tinted cheeks and scabbed over cuts and dark bruises cover my body. Anytime I move, I'm in a great deal of pain. My stomach is empty, having not eaten before I left to find Joey. I feel weak and useless. What will Christian do to Joey? What about Preston? Was what he said about him and Joey hooking up actually true? Did Joey cause drama on purpose to have an excuse to hook up with Preston?

Anger overtakes me and I want to just scream out, but I can't. When I open my mouth, no words come out. What is Christian doing with me? What are his plans? Is he going to kill me? More importantly, is he going to kill Joey?

All these questions begin hurting my brain. I don't understand how anyone could be this messed in the head. My thoughts are interrupted by the loud pitter-pattering of footsteps headed down into the basement I currently sit in.

"He's over there," I hear Christian mumble to someone before he comes into view, with Preston.

My heart stops and I shrink down, curling up into a small ball in an attempt to hide away from this whole situation. I should be at home, studying and finishing up essays. This is not how I expected my college experience to go.

"Well, well, well," I hear Christian say slowly, crouching down and placing his finger beneath my chin, forcing me to look up at him. He then motions for Preston to come over and I see him scurry over.

"Do your thing," Christian says before exiting the basement and heading upstairs.

I swallow loudly, looking up at Preston timidly.

"I'm so sorry, Daniel." he whispers, and I swear I see a tear roll down his cheek. He pulls something out from behind him, which I soon recognize as a gun.

"Please, Preston. Don't d-do this," I plead quietly and he gives me a look of sympathy.

"I have to, or else I'll end up like this too. I promise I'll make sure Joey is okay," he whispers, bringing the gun to my head. I close my eyes. It's either me, or Joey. I will not let Joey get harmed anymore.

Suddenly, I hear the loud noise of a gunshot. My eyes open, and I immediately touch my head. Not a trace of blood is there, and I soon realize why.

Preston shot himself.

(a/n: guess who's back back back...)
