🌺Callie's pov🌺
I woke up to the sound of my little triplet brothers running around and fighting over a toy car, with no pants on. I woke up my two other sisters and we walked out the door to the hallway and down the hall to find our older brother, Weston getting yelled at for dropping a china plate on our dad's foot. I giggled a little at my brother's clumsiness, but it drew attention to me. I ended up having to sweep the broken glass off the floor. It wouldn't have been so hard if I wasn't barefoot and the glass pieces weren't the size of a small grain of sand. My sisters tiptoed past me to the dining room table and sat down on the left side of the table. Though I was the youngest triplet Cascade (the middle triplet) was the smallest. She always was and she always will be. She sat down on a regular chair like the rest of us but she also had to stack three pillows under her. I shook my head and continued sweeping. I threw away the miniature glass pieces and took my seat in between Cascade and Aubrey.
Mom called the boys, Dolton Hunter and Caden, over to the table while carrying a stack of pancakes to the table. She set the round fluffy cakes of happiness before us and Aubrey ran to the fridge to grab the syrup. Aubrey's kind of a breakfast freak. By the time she set down the syrup for anyone else to use, I swear she already downed five pancakes and was reaching for her sixth. "Aubrey, slow down with those pancakes." My mom said shooting a glare in her direction.
"Yes ma'am." She said while pulling her hand away. The rest of us ate two pancakes each then threw the last one at Aubrey, and she still ate it.
"So Aunt Lyla is staying over this week, she's flying from Florida, I want you guys to keep the house clean and be on your best behavior. Okay?" Dad anounced. Everyone grumbled and groaned while taking small steps towards the stairs to clean our rooms.
"I would disagree, but I don't have a choice do I?" Dad looked at me and shook his head. I trudged up the stairs into my shared bedroom with clothes scattered across the ground. I leaned over and picked up a sun dress that belonged to one of my sisters and basketball tossed it into the laundry basket. After a few hours we finished cleaning the floor and made our beds. Sat down on the edge of the bed and leaned over, my head was upside down and just barely touching the floor. Aubrey and Cascade thought it was a good idea to do the same thing and I had to laugh at Cascade, who was struggling to get her head to pass the bed frame.
"Guys your dad and I are going to go get your Aunt Lyla. We'll be back soon. Sabrina should be here soon to look after you for a couple hours. Be good!" We ran down stairs and hugged them while they were walking out the door. About five minutes later Sabrina showed up at our door and we unwillingly let her in.
None of us really liked Sabrina. Yeah sure she could be fun at times but that usually only happened if she was drunk or with our mom. So she was t any fun at all considering the mom wasn't home and she wasn't intoxicated nor was there any alcohol in the house for her to get intoxicated. "Hey brat, brain, and bonehead." She said aiming the comment towards my sisters and I.
"Hi Sabrina." We replied in unison. We ran back upstairs to a boring room. At least it was better than being with Sabrina. We were about to go see what our brothers were doing because the were being quite when Weston and his army of pant less six year olds barged into our room demanding a nerf gun war and the tv privileges. We ran away from the flying bullets and ended up in the kitchen staring at a once evil woman, now with tears running down her cheeks and a worried look in her eyes.
"Sabrina, what's wrong?" I eventually got the courage to say
"Your parents and your aunt..." Her voice faltered "they uh... died in a car crash on the way home." I think everyone took a step back in shock. Then that's when the tears began to pour. "And the news gets worse," we all looked at her sad and confused. "I will be your legal guardian until Westin is old enough to care for all of you."
