🌹Cascade's pov🌹
I was laying in my bed but I couldn't fall asleep. It was a typical night. I tossed and turned and envied everyone who is a heavy and fast sleepier. I was light and slow. Just as I was finally drifting off I heard the front door open and remembered that I forgot to lock it. I tip toed down the stairs with a baseball bat in my hand. I peeked over the edge of the stairs and saw Rascal holding Callie in his arms. I rushed back to my room before he could see me and shut my door silently.
I slipped back underneath the covers and waited a couple minutes. Then I heard the door close again and I ran back down the stairs and locked the door. "Cas is that you?" Callie yelled down the hallway
"Yeah."
"Okay." I waited a couple seconds but didn't hear anything else so I went back up stairs. I grabbed my phone and fell back onto my bed.
L-Hey
C-Hey
L-I really enjoyed going to Disney with you
C-Same here it was really fun
L-Is there any way that I could hold you in my arms again before school starts
C-Pick any day in the rest of the summer and I'm all yours
L- Okay so tomorrow
C-Sounds perfect
L-I love you
C-I love you too
I set my phone down on my night stand and closed my eyes, but I couldn't fall asleep. I opened a math textbook then my head fell down on my pillow and I fell asleep instantly.
I woke up the next morning and saw I had a text from Logan
L-Meet me on the beach at 12:00, wear your swim suit
It was 11:45. I slipped on a purple bikini and ran to the beach. "Hey beautiful!"
"Hey!" I said and kissed his cheek. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me. He picked me up and ran into the water. His shaggy blonde hair was blowing everywhere in the sea breeze. Logan set me down so I could sink my feet in the sand. I stuck my hand in the water and brought up water to meet Logan's face. He laughed and splashed me back and we had a little splash war for ten minutes until we got bored.
We got out of the water and dried off then started heading towards the empty beach cafe. We ordered smoothies and sat down. I felt a weird movement underneath me and cups started falling off of shelfs. I already knew that an earthquake was happening, I've been in so many I've lost count, but I didn't know how powerful. My life started going in slow motion and I got up from my seat trying to drag Logan with me. The wooden walls of the old cafe began falling down in piles of old lumber and dust. I fell somewhere while running out of the cafe thinking that Logan was close behind. Then the Earth desided it had its fair share of destruction and stopped. I looked around the dust and was alone, which ment Logan was still in the spot that once held our favorite cafe. I stood up and looked through the wood pieces and finally found Logan not to far from where I began running. One of his hands were slowly opening but other than that he wasn't moving, not even his chest to signify breathing. I stepped closer then dropped down to my knees just beside the corpse of what used to be my boyfriend.
In side of Logan's hand was the ring he gave me when we got back together, it must have slide off on mine when I ran off. I put it back on my finger and placed my hand on his. I rubbed my fingers acrossed his cold dead hand and cried. A stream of tears poured from my eyes as I looked at the lifeless body of someone I once loved. I was broken hearted as the world seemed to again crumble at my feet but that time it wasn't real. I wiped off my tear with my dirt caked hand and started walking in the direction of home not knowing if there would be a home to go to. Half way there I broke down in the dirt and my emotions finally caught back up to me. I was alone and possibly homeless, my life of happiness died along with my love.
