anika and angus had spent the last few days together, during lunch, on the bus and at nights on the rooftop of their apartment building. anika would look at the stars, noticing certain constellations, she'd wish to fly to space so she could somehow get a better look at them. angus always looked at her, her beauty came out most at night, her questionable mind, wondering eyes and bright skin. angus wasn't a boy that had many girlfriends due to the fact that many females at his school were shallow, too unreal, or just not his type. but, anika was different, so different. and he loved it.
"what's your favorite constellation?" he asked while picking at his fingernails which had been bitten extremely short, "i don't know, i don't know many constellations all i know is that the stars are beautiful. especially when the city lights don't drown them out with their bright lights and neon signs." angus agreed, the stars were beautiful, but he wasn't paying much attention to them because of anika.
"can i ask you a personal question?"
"yeah, i guess." anika slids her large glasses further up the narrow bridge between her eyes, "have you ever had a boyfriend?"
"no, why?"
angus was slightly disappointed, anika was very pretty, smart and unique, she was someone that angus could stare at for hours and never get bored of his eyes drawing the deepness of her brown eyes or the smooth strokes of her cheeks. angus would love to be her first boyfriend, first kiss, first everything."earth to angus," anika snapped her fingers in front of his distracted face, "oh, ha, sorry. i was daydreaming." anika sighs, planting her hands under her thighs, the cold wind was biting at them,
"are you cold?"
"sorta." angus slids closer to her and lays his arm around her shoulders, pulling her in closely. so closely that he could smell her hair, which smelled like peaches. she laid her head on angus's shoulder, almost on his chest. his body heat warmed anika, and his grasp made her feel protected. like, angus was her body guard.
"this is relaxing."
"what?"
"being up here, looking up at the stars, b-being in your arms, it's relaxing." the smile on angus' face showed happiness and comfort as he held anika tight, embracing her warmth and scent.he was glad he left that note in her french book almost two weeks ago.
