maybe angus lee was falling in love with the sweet anika. everything she did made his shrinking heart swell once again, she's beautiful and in his mind she was perfectly human she didn't conform to the awkward requirements of society, she was herself and angus loved that. the small coffee shop, cafe, smelled like an overwhelming amount of freshly brewed coffee and something else. angus always thought it was interesting that anika always brought a small book everywhere she went. maybe it was because she just loved reading so much, or maybe she didn't want to know her surrounding constantly.
"coffee or tea?"
"i think you know me better than that, angus." coffee it is then. over the past four months angus and anika have grown closer and possibly inseparable. she was his comfort, his happiness, his only form of stability at the moment and he needed her. as he ordered them hot streaming mugs of precious energizing joe, and grasped six small packages of sugar and delicious cream, his eyes glanced over at anika, who was smiling, reading the small book that happened to always be in her pocket. she looked so happy.
"here's your coffee, lovely lady." gosh angus was a dork, a very sweet one at that.
"thanks, kind sir." she giggles, peering up from her book to accidentally catch the awed expression on angus face, her cheeks immediately began to tingle and feel heavy. it was weird, in her whole seventeen years no male has ever looked at her the way angus looks at her, maybe she liked it a bit too much.
anika's brown skin shimmered under the slight amount of sun shining through the large windows, her lips pressed against the opening of the mug and she downed half her overly sweet coffee in mere seconds. maybe they were becoming closer than they ever expected. "can we go to that creek you showed me a while ago?" he agreed.
the creek was quiet and had the perfect atmosphere for a lovely read. so that's what anika did while her and angus sat at the creeks edge with their little toes peeking into the water.
angus noticed the large amount of risen chill bumps on her soft skin, so he gently placed his arm around her shoulder and pushed her closer so her head was on his shoulder comfortably. his slightly chilled hand rested between her elbow and her waist.
this was perfect.
i wanted to write a small author's note, i know alot of people don't read this book but i am still going to keep writing in it because i really love this book, its sweet and realistic. i am not going to write in any of my fanfiction books in a while, i'm just not feeling them anymore and i'll be deleting any ff book that has under 1.5k reads. #dontlikeclutter :)
