angus craved sleep, yet no one would allow him to have it. his mother constantly called him for help, or his loud mouthed siblings noise would stab his ears. the boy's eyes appeared more tired, especially since his father left and hasn't yet returned. angus didn't want him to, the bold man always caused unnecessary trouble and pain where ever he went.
but today everyone in the apartment was quiet, especially his mother who casually sat in the corner of the room reading a horrible romance novels that had a setting of the sixteen hundreds. “mom, i'll be back. i'm going to meet a friend.” she replied with a simple mumbled yeah. which made him sigh and roll his deep green eyes.
honestly angus wanted to see anika, the pretty girl with large glasses and a large mind that wondered too many things. he approached apartment 612 and knocked softly, it was early morning and he didn't want to disturb anyone, in case someone was asleep. he waited patiently, as he looked down at the abnormal cleanliness of his sneakers. the door slowly opened, revealing anika.
“good morning.” anika smiled as she skipped into her kitchen where she was cooking something that almost smelt burnt. “what are you doing?”
“cooking myself breakfast. it's not turning out too well through” angus watched as she frustratingly moves her hair out of her face. once the apartment smelled like burnt smoke, and anika angrily flew whatever she was cooking into the garbage, he offered to buy her breakfast from the coffee shop they'd occasionally pass after school when they went for their little walks.
the two walked hand and hand as snow began to fall from the pure white sky above, “i love snow, it's so pretty.” he agreed. he also stared in awe as the white almost transparent snowflakes fell upon her skin and hair, angus thought anika was so beautiful no mattet what she was doing, or where she was. it was as if she didn't have the ability to look bad or ugly.
“angus?”
“y-yeah”
“why are you staring at me?” she softly giggles, “because you are beautiful, anika.”
