anika took out angus's note whenever she felt icky during the day. no matter how angry she got or whatever words spilled from her lips, people still teased her. they didn't like her glasses, her clothes, her face, her brown skin, there were picking her flaws and throwing them in her face, anika learned to not take things to heart, her mother and father explained to her at a early age that people of color struggle more than other types of people due to their different cultures, and were judged because of it.
"anika, wh-what are you doing?" angus swatted down to the ground and sat next to anika who was scribbling into her journal, or diary. she seemed extremely annoyed, her hand strongly clenched the sparkly pencil in her hand, "some people really irritate me, like i just want to wish them anyway, let them be stranded on an isolated island for a while or something." angus chuckles, "yeah, some people aren't very nice. i guess you just have to ignore them, don't give them the satisfaction of knowing that what they say is bothering you."
anika sighs, she had only knew the boy for a few days and he had already given her so much advice, "angus, do you think i'm different?"
"yes, but a good kind of different, anika. you're like a breath of fresh air, i'll see you on the bus anika." and that was it, he stood up and walked about two steps before turning around to face her, "smile, your smile is beautiful, anika." and his shadow and person left, leaving anika with a pair of smiling lips.
