little star flakes

surprisingly neither of her parents were home tonight, so she happily escaped to the rooftop to see angus, a long tacky scarf hung around her neck and flopped against the bulk of her pants. the weather outside was chilled. see your breathe cold. and if you looked hard enough at the sky, the stars looked like they were flying down from their dwelling in the beautiful sky to flood the earth with white-transparent little flakes.

"hey, anika." angus looked tired, maybe even exhausted, that made her extremely curious, had he not been sleeping properly? "hi. are you tired?"

"it's that obvious, eh?" bad mood. tired unfocused eyes. horrible posture.

"maybe you should go inside and sleep, angus."

"can't."

"why not?"

"my dad is back..." anika sat beside angus and placed her mitten covered hand on top of his bare one, that appeared to possibly be a purple color due to the extreme cold. "oh?"

"yeah and that means more fighting, more yelling, more sleepless nights for me and my siblings. why'd he have to come back?" anika didn't like angus's voice at the moment, it was too soft, tired and laced with anger. it made her want to physically cringe for his friend's well-being.

"maybe he wants to fix his mistakes"

"doubt it."

he was in a bad tainted mood and he hated talking so differently to anika, when he peeks over at her, those big glasses covered pretty deep brown eyes were looking downward, at the awkward patterns displayed on her stretched out scarf. "i'm sorry."

"for what?" he watches as she tilts her head and looks over at him. "for being in a grouchy mood, i don't want to take my mood out on you, accidentally. you've done nothing wrong."

"it's okay, i understand that you're upset and possibly confused. it's okay."

anika's average sized hand squeezes his, his hands were now becoming warm due to the thick fabric covering her. his mind started to think about how his life would have been in the last four in a half months without anika in. she's helped him through so much without her even realising it. he was extremely lucky to have such an interesting friend that for some reason he decided she was the reason for his happiness when everything started to become hellish in his life.

"thank you."

she giggles, the most adorable sound filled his ears, "why are you thanking me? i haven't done anything, silly."

"but you have, and for that i say thank you."

"i think the coldness is messing with your head angus, let's go back inside." she was always smiling, smiling like she was always content with whenever happened in life. he had seen a few times where she was upset, angry, he even seen her on the verge of tears. he disliked for such a powerful person to have such raw emotions, but that's life. everyone feels some type of emotion, whether it's bad or good. anika stands up shiftly, making her extra long scarf fall off her person onto the cold concrete slab, "i got it." angus volunteers.

angus didn't believe in fairy tales or awkward chick-flicks, he didn't believe in those odd romance movies that all had the same plot as one another. but being with anika made him feel as though he was in a fairy tale book, or one of those upcoming cringey romances where the boy looks into the girl's eyes under the night sky, the stars above somehow illogically reflect against the deepness of her eyes. possibly the boy would stare so deeply in the female's eyes that she'd fall in love with him in mere seconds. the boy would place his hands on the outer of her face, his thumbs gently caressing the flesh of her cheeks.

maybe they'd even lean in closer to each other.

so close, that they could feel the warmth of their breathe fanning against their skin. in a lovely turn of events, this was the describing of what was happening between angus and anika at this very moment, the stars shined above, small little flakes were gently falling from their homes making their way to the dark earth.

with them being so close to each other, angus could see the little delicate moles scattered near her eyes. anika noticed a small birthmark on angus's ear, she thought it was cute.

while anika was distracted by the different things on angus's face that she hadn't really noticed, his lips gently pressed against hers.
