Four months till the change...

I stand near the back door of Jacks house staring out at the blanket of snow covering the backyard. Watching as the small flakes fall slowly, landing peacefully on the ground.

I look into the steaming cup of hot coco in my hand, watching as the steam rises, a small pattern floating on top of the surface. It's crazy to think that in just a few short months, I won't want this. Or anything. The only one thing I'll want more than anything... Is blood.

I take a sip of the hot liquid, smiling slightly as the warmth spreads throughout my body, as it slides down my throat.

I still hadn't heard much from Jake either. He wasn't picking up my calls or replying back to my messages. He did send me a letter in the mail. A couple lines were wrote on the top half, but had been scribbled out.

The bottom part had a few words written on it. Saying he's fine. He's roaming around Northern Canada. Needed to clear his head. Felt like he would do danger here, and that's the last thing he wanted to do.

After finding out Jake was a werewolf, I felt as if I'd known him better, but this distance he's pushed between us is driving me insane.

Not because of our history, but minus everything, he's my best friend. And I miss him.

I was so deep in my thoughts, I hadn't noticed Jack's appearance beside me in the kitchen. He had softly laid a hand on my shoulder, and I swear I saw my ghost leave my body when I jumped.

I turn to him as he's wearing a small grin. "The guests have arrived" He says, wrapping an arm around my shoulders, leading me into the livingroom.

*********

I was surprised to see how many people actually showed up to Jack's Christmas party. Leah and her little brother Seth Clearwater showed up, along side their mom, Sue. Apparently she had been close to Charlie, I think a little more than friends with him. I remember seeing her at the funeral. The way she was sobbing onto her sons shoulder. It was really heartbreaking.

Leah and Seth were sitting infront of the fireplace, both with a plate full of food in their hands. Sue was sitting on the couch, watching the game on the television. Apparently it was the Seattle Mariners vs the Boston Red Sox.

I'm not to much of a baseball fan, but Jack loves it. Kinda funny that Sue does too. And she seems to be really close to Jack, which is good. He needs a friend.

I watch as he slowly makes his way around the couch, taking a seat beside Sue, and they get into a deep conversation about the game. Mainly taking bets on who will win. I turn to head back to the kitchen when I hear my name.

I turn to see Seth smiling brightly at me from his spot on the floor. "What's up Seth?" I ask, returning to the spot behind the couch, placing my hands on the back of it. "Who do you think will win?" He asks, his brown eyes shinning in the light.

"Hmmm, I'd have to take bets on Seattle" I say, earning an eye roll from him. He's a Red Sox fan. Apparently he always has been. Ever since I met him, that's the only baseball team he's ever talked about. Talking about how many seasons they've gone without a single loss. Pretty impressive but still, not my thing.
