... First Day and Shopping

I pull up to the school and turn off the engine. It felt weird driving by myself. I look up as a few people pass by my truck, some guys stopped to check it out. I grabbed my book, and climb out if the truck locking the door behind me. "Nice truck" says a male voice. I turn to see him. His golden brown eyes staring down at mine. "Thanks" I say, looking up to him.

He walks to the back and checks it out, then joins me by my side again "85?" He asks. I nod, still kind of confused that he's talking to me when yesterday he ignored me. He reaches my side and looks down at me, smiling. "I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself yesterday. My names Edward. Your Lily?" He asks. I nod again. "Are you okay?" He asks, worry flashes across his face. "Uh yeah" I look back to my truck and pull on the handle making sure that it's locked. I look back to Edward as we make our way across the parking lot.

"So, what are you doing after school?" He asks. I look to him, then look away quickly "Um, my dad and I are going into town to go get some school stuff and I need clothes" I look to him. "What about you?" I ask. He smiles then looks back to me "Nothing". We reach the entrance to the school. "Hey, Lily" he starts. I look to him "yeah?" I ask. He's quiet for a second then looks down at me as a few students go around us and into the school. "I was wondering if I could join you" he says. More students pass us and go into the school. "Uh, let me ask my dad. And I'll let you know something around lunch, okay?" I ask, looking to him. He smiles and opens the door for me "That works". I smile and go inside, as he follows me.

My first two classes flew by and I still hadn't heard anything from Jack. I reach my locker, putting my books away when my phone begins to ring. I look at the screen that's flashing "Jack". I unlock my screen and press "Answer". I place my phone to my ear "Hello" I say. "Hey Lil. So what's going on?" Jack asks. "Oh, umm I have a friend that wants to join us today. ya know, for shopping and such" I say. It's quiet on his line. "Jack?" Nothing. I go to hang up then his voice cuts back in "Sorry Lil, bad connection. I won't be able to go with you tonight. You okay going alone with him?" Him.. how does he know it's a guy. "How'd you-" I start but he cuts me off "Lil, I wasn't born yesterday. I'll be home around dinner. Have fun and be careful. Bye" he says and he hangs up.

I place my phone in my cardigan pocket as Edward reaches me. I smile to him and he slightly waves to me "Hey Lily" he says. "Hi Edward" I say, smiling back to him. "Did you get ahold of your dad?" He asks. I place my book on the top shelf of my locker and close it, looking back to him "Uh yeah. He can't make it tonight. Work stuff, so it will just be the two of us... is that okay?" I ask. "Don't forget me" chimes in Alice, who pops up out of no where. She giggles then looks from me to Edward. "Im guessing you met my sister Alice?" He asks. Sister?! I nod, and smile to them both "Hello Alice. And of course you can join us" I say, smiling to her. "Great, I'll have Edward send me the details. See you there" she says, hugging me, then she leaves.

I turn to look at Edward, who had a grin on his face "What?" I ask. He looks to me, a full on smile on his face now "Nothing. I was just hoping to have some time to get to know you is all" he says. I feel my cheeks heat instantly, which causes me to look away. "W-Well, we can always go to dinner afterwards... if you want" I say, looking back to him. "Great" he says. I smile to him and we head to the cafeteria.

The rest of the day flew by. In Biology, Edward and I talked about the shops we wanted to go into and where we wanted to eat dinner at. We desided on a little Mexican shop named El Paso. We also desided to take his car, and we would come back for mine.

When the last bell rang, I gathered my things from the library table and made my way to my locker. Thank god it was Friday and there wasn't any homework. I put in my locker combination and opened it, as a note fell out. I placed my books on the top shelf, bent down and picked up the letter. With shaky fingers, I open the note and read the amazing cursive writing "I'll be outside waiting for you. Don't take to long -E". I smile, and close my locker, adjusting my bag over my shoulder. I place the note in my bag, and make my way outside.

I reach Edwards car, and I knock on the window. He rolls it down, and smiles to me, with his shades on "Sorry but I don't invite strangers in" he says, with a smirk. I roll my eyes and cross my arms over my chest "Fine. I'll just go alone" I say, turning on my heel. "Damnit, wait" he says. I smile, and go back to his car, as I hear the car door unlock. I smile, and climb in looking at him. He smiles, then presses a random button on his radio, allowing some melodic tune to play. It's instrumental. Piano. "This is lovely" I say, smiling to him. He looks from the radio to me "That's me playing" he says. I look to him shocked "you play?" I ask. He nods, the places the car in drive. I click my seat belt and he talks again "I'll have to show you sometime". So there will be a next time?! I smile and look out the window, enjoying the music and Edwards company.

We pull up outside of a boutique, and Edward kills the engine. He turns to look at me as I go to open the door "Dont" he says. I turn to ask him why but he's already outside the door. I turn and look back to my side and he opens the door for me. I giggle and get out, staring at him. "You didn't have to do that" I say, smiling. He chuckles slightly "I know, it's the least I could do" he says.

We head towards the boutique and he places his hand on my lower back. My heart begans to race. "Edward! Lily!" We hear our names and we turn around. Edward drops his hand from my lower back as Alice reaches us. "Glad I could make it. Dazzled By Twilight is my favorite store" she says. She grabs my wrist and pulls me fatter ahead as we enter the store. I look back to Edward, as he smiles at us.

Ten shopping bags later, we finally exit the store. I ended up with two bags and the rest were Alice's. She ended up paying and wouldn't let me pay for mine. Edward takes my bags and places them in the backseat of his car. "Where to next?" Alice asks. Edward and I exchange glances "Well actually Alice, we are going to grab some dinner... Alone" Edward says. Alice looks to him for a few minutes before answering "Oh alright" she looks to me "I'll call you tomorrow and we can plan a girls day" she says. I smile and nod as she pulls me into another hug. I giggle and hug her back. She pulls away, then smiles to Edward "See you at home" then she turns and leaves.

We climb into Edwards car and he starts it up immediately. He throws the car in drive and I scoff "What?" He asks, looking from me to the road. "Put your seat belt on" I say, clicking mine over me. "He chuckles then puts it on. He turns on the music from earlier and we both go quiet again, listening to the music. "Sorry about my sister" he says. I turn to look at him "No, don't be. She's great" I say, smiling to him. He glances to me, then back to the road, smiling.

We reach the restaurant and we end up going inside. Edward of course opens the door for me. We enter the restaurant and everyone turns to look at us. I glance to Edward, who seems to be completely oblivious to all the stares, or just used to it. After all, he is gorgeous. I see a smile playing on his lips "What?" I ask, smiling too. He shakes his head as our waiter comes and seats us.

We take a seat opposite one another, and we order our drinks. Well Edward orders them... In Spanish. The waiter takes my order because Edward insisted he wasn't hungry, and leaves us alone. "So you speak Spanish also" I say. He looks up at me, smiling "What else don't I know about you, Edward?" I ask, smiling. He clears his throat, then grins to me "What do you want to know?" He asks. I stare in his eyes and go to answer when the waiter comes back with my food. I take a bite of my food and look back to Edward, who's staring at me. "What?" I ask, grinning. He shakes his head, his eyes never leaving me. "I'm just glad I met you, Mrs. Collins" he says. I smile and take another bite of my food.

We get back to my truck and Edward doesn't turn his car off this time. I turn to look at him, as he's outside getting my bags out of the back seat. I smile and get out with him. I unlock my truck door, and he places my bags in the seat. He leans back and I stand infront of him. "Thanks for those and for dinner. I'll pay you back, I swear" I say, smiling to him. "Don't worry about it. But I do have curfew and so do you from what you told me over dinner" he says. He actually remembered. I smile to myself. "Tell Alice to call me tomorrow and we can set something up" I say. He nods, then stands beside his car again. "Good Night, Mrs. Collins" he says. I smile and look to him "Good Night Edward" I say as we both get into our cars. I start up my truck and watch as his Volvo speeds out of the parking lot. I smile to myself and head home, humming the same tune from Edwards car.
