I tapped my pencil on my notebook and tried thinking of words that will be good for my song. It was hard writing a song, trying to get the right emotion and letting others read it if it's good. I tapped my pencil more and then words just came out.

I smiled at what I wrote and I was going to keep writing when something dripped on the paper. I touched it and rubbed it against my finger. I closed my eyes and sighed slowly. I thought I took my pills today.

Why am I seeing it again? I snapped my eyes opened when I heard the bell rang. I looked down at the paper and it wasn't there. I looked around and everyone was leaving. I ran a hand through my hair and started to pack up. As I was packing up, there was a presence next to me. I looked up and glared at him. "Are you going to keep following me?"

He didn't say anything and I rolled my eyes. Serge wouldn't say anything only if it was about his pack and schoolwork. I got up and walked passed him when he grabbed my arm and turned me around. I was going to twist his wrist when he gave me a weird look.

My breath caught in my throat as I stared weirdly in his eyes. His brown eyes turned black and they weren't usually cold and empty. They were something that I couldn't my finger on it but I didn't care right now. I moved my eyes away from his and yanked my wrist away from his hand.

"Fuck off, mutt," I spat and walked away. I massaged my wrist as I was walking to class. I busted opened the door and looked around for a seat.

"Ah, Mr. Cano is late for class. Detention," the teacher said.

I huffed and walked in the back, sitting next to Chase.

When the teacher went back talking about mythical creatures, Chase whispered to me, "Hey man, where were you?"

I glanced at him and said, "Still in my first class. The mutt was holding me like I was fucking...something."

I still didn't know what or why the mutt was staring at me like that. I tried concentrating on the lesson but I kept thinking about my notebook. I opened it to the page I was on and tried finding whatever dripped. When I couldn't it, I went back to writing my song.

Something dripped on my notebook and I closed my eyes, breathing heavily. Don't let me taste it. Don't think about it. Forget it exists. When I opened my eyes, there was taste in my mouth. It was bittersweet, rubbery, and sour. Shit.

"Eddie?" I looked at Chase and he had his eyebrow raised.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

I nodded slowly and looked down at my notebook. I opened my mouth and black liquid dripped out of my mouth. I closed my mouth and looked up to see the teacher teaching. He said something that made my head spin.

"Years ago creatures used a saying that made people believe that creatures exist. But these creatures are different from other kinds. It wasn't pleasant because they had rough, deep voices that made us, humans, flinch.

I'll keep fighting on till the pain fills the air.

I must, must be dreaming.

I wiped my mouth with a shaky hand and looked at Chase who was pale. He looked at me and he leaned back, staring at the teacher, I leaned back also and looked back the teacher. What does that mean? Why do I keep seeing this black liquid? I wiped my eyes and looked at my hand to see the black liquid. I opened my mouth, wanting to scream but I couldn't. Not again.
