"What were you doing in there?-"

"I wanted to go on a hunt because-"

"A hunt? I thought I told you not to kill anymore werewolves. Why can't you listen to me? That's all I asked for you. -"

"I know, I'm sorry Vincent but Chase is...lifeless and I need you to tell me the truth."

He paused. "Did you just say sorry?"

I blinked shockingly, staring into his light blue eyes. I wasn't sure if I did or not. I was desperate. I was desperate to find Chase's happiness again. After what happened to his mom, he's been lifeless or anger and he's putting towards anyone that talks to him or gets in his way. I peeked the wall that was behind and saw Chase sitting with his back straight, and staring blankly at the TV. The TV wasn't on. Clayton sat next to him with a worried look but he didn't say anything. Serge sat on the couch's arms, looking at the window blankly. Everyone looked different.

I looked back to Vincent and Mr. Naz. I tried explaining them what happened into the woods and why Chase was acting different, but Vincent kept cutting me off. He saw the concern, sorrow, and confusion on my face. Or how I felt.  That's what I hate about werewolves. Some knew what you feeling because they get into your personal stuff without asking. It's fucking rude and I hate it. I nodded and licked my lips.

"Who is he? I heard..." I took a deep breath and let it out as I said, "them talking about him. And why did they kill Chase's mom?"

Vincent and Mr. Naz glanced at each other and sighed. I felt an uneasy feeling in my stomach and I wasn't sure if I was prepared to hear what they had to say.

"I didn't want to tell you, or at least anyone, but he is strong. Stronger than us. He can tear anyone apart with his bare teeth quickly and he wouldn't care. He's indifferent from many werewolves," Vincent explained. I gave him a confused look as to what he was saying. He wasn't making any sense.

"He is an Alpha." Mr. Naz bluntly said. I pursed my lips together, crossing my arms over my chest. "He needs something to test on. And that's why he's coming here."

"Why here? Why not other places?"

Mr. Naz bit his lips. Another glance.

"We will talk about this more when we tell everyone. We need to tell everyone else," Vincent commanded and gave me a warm look. My heart pounded, my hands turned clammy, and I felt something bittersweet on my tongue. Here we go.

"Vincent," He stared at me. "Will this be my life after my dad dies?"

Vincent face went blank and then turned into a small sympathy smile. So my dad planned this before I was born. If he died, I would take his spot. If he died, I would be a High Rank Slayer. If he died, I would be...perfect unlike Chase.

'You are never coming home, never coming home.'

"Are you risking your life for me?"

'No. Why would they? They're just werewolves. You hate them. They hate you. You have nothing in common."

"Yes. Only because I want this to end."

'It never ends.'
