The mirrors begin to shatter,
Thousands of pieces breaking at your feet,
This is the final stage, it's done.
Thinking that just in another second you will end it all...
-Well it has been an hour,
So why has nothing happened as yet?
Then we realized.
Throughout this animosity, a single piece of glass,
A piece that looked so alive, stood within its frames,
Untouched, almost the purest thing in that room,
What could be purer than that?
-The reflections we saw coming from it,
It wasn't ours; no those were long gone,
They were the eyes of those we cared about,
Those we cherished , those we loved,
With their gentle hands resting on our shoulders,
It will be okay, it will all be okay,
It didn't matter if we didn't have our own reflection,
As long as those we cared for kept reflecting through us,
Everything would be okay; and we could continue to forgive.
