I was born screaming from the minute my lungs hit the air,
I came into this world as a fighter and I shall leave as a survivor,
An innocent child stares at me,
But she fades away as I reached for her,
As I tried to remember what I was like when I was pure,
I can no longer look at myself in the mirror,
That is without feeling empty and shallow,
You told me to be quiet, that you loved me,
It would be our little secret,
I was only 7 years old when you told me it was okay to play,
My soul shattered as my forbidden boundaries were violated,
Yes I remember, I remember it all,
I remember the grey paint on your bedroom wall,
I remember the way you silenced me when I tried to scream,
I said no! But you continued to play dolly house and ice-cream,
The one who swore to protect me,
Robbed me of a future, my innocence,
All these years and I can still hear your voice telling me to be quiet,
But my throat will not be strangled by this secret game any longer,
I will scream it, I will shout it,
I will not stop until the entire world knows how much you like to play,
I came into this world as a fighter and I shall leave as a survivor.
