Confined Within the Mind

Bound and confined within the mind,

We became patients of sedatives,

Then watched as our predicaments crawled away;

Are they really gone...?

-Lodged in a different realm, never again to be found,

Or is it that our pain and misery will re-immerge,

Causing our tears to rupture,

Running deep within these chambers,

We are neither at peace,

Nor do we ever sleep.

Confined to our subconscious,

We are bound by our inmost subliminal thoughts...

-It has been months, maybe years,

Since we last saw or spoke with our families,

Instead we have spent the hours encountering our fears.

Though we prayed,

That nostalgic feeling promoted our insanity,

And caused the strength of our chains to intensify,

Our hope taken with it and was drowned beneath the depths of seas...

- At that moment when all was to be lost,

We indulged in our sedatives and watched our inhibitions as they swam away,

And for a moment, brief, yet an endless moment,

We were neither bound nor confined within the mind,

However in the end, we all whispered Goodnight.
