2 weeks later

Kaneki exited the general store with great annoyance, he had bought many hair dying products weeks before but they had not worked, his hair has turned white just a few hours after he had applied the dye. So he had needed to go to a specialist to dye his hair black. It was always like this, after a episode, his hair would stay white for various amounts of time, the first time was the event that caused him to gain the kakuja transformation, after that he had dyed his hair black. But after that, whenever he transformed, his hair would stay white for different periods of time, sometimes it would be merely a week, but sometimes it stretched to a couple months.

The original cause of the hair had completely changed Kaneki as a person, he had been captured by Jason, a relatively powerful ghoul who tortured Kaneki beyond recognition. Toes and fingers cut off with pliers, filling up numerous buckets, Jason administered something that suppressed Kaneki's RC factor, the ghoul factor that enabled him to heal. He used a method that made the victim cling onto numbers for sanity, he tortured Kaneki, while telling him to subtract seven from one-thousand, making him stay awake and focused on what he was doing to him.

A centipede in the ear, making Kaneki choose between who would be killed, a child or her mother, or both if he didn't decide. Because of his own experience with his mother, Kaneki could not choose, making Jason kill both, psychologically breaking Kaneki. Physical torture was like a small scratch compared to the gouge into Kaneki's psyche, Kaneki talked with Rize in his mind, she convinced him that his mother was actually a selfish bitch that deserved to be killed.

She made him remember his real mother, not the false image that loved him, but the one that hit him, beat him, abused him, for no reason at all. He was forced to replay the entire scene of his mother being raped over and over again, for hours, in the space of a couple seconds in real time. In short, Jason and Rize broke him, made it so sanity and happiness was a teensy blip in the distance, and he was all alone in an empty plane, pondering about his own existence, and why he should live at all. After all, he was an abomination in his eyes, he was a forced hybrid, something that didn't belong in either twisted world, he wasn't the bridge, he was just person standing on the bridge, staring out into the water as people passed by, paying no heed to to him.

He was a ghoul, he knew that already, ghouls were almost always murderous, sadistic, brutal, but humans were no better, he was the blend of two evils. Shachi had made him come to terms with his ghoul nature, he still didn't enjoy eating human meat, but he had to to survive,

He had looked it up, supposedly it was called Marie Antoinette syndrome, even though it was proved to be not true. He didn't mind it, in fact he had always preferred to keep it, as it reminded him of his pain, something that he deserved to remember. The only thing stopping him was that he was known for having white hair, so if he wanted to lay low from tenacious investigators and ghoul kingpins he had to dye it black right after an episode, despite it going back to black after some amount of time. This time he did it because of Anteiku.

Jason had kept him for two weeks of continuos psychological and physical torture before Kaneki escaped while Jason was out at a ghoul club, killing all of Jason's subordinates, eating their ghoul flesh. Jason had said eating a fellow ghoul made the self stronger, Kaneki had tested the theory, and was rewarded with his incomplete kakuja transformation of a centipede.

Shachi found the boy after a couple days and took him back with care, something so un-Shachi like, he thought it was someone else. Even Sachi was appalled that they would do this to someone who was only 10 years old, Shachi usually kept torturing to insanity at least in the late-teens to early adult stage, even he drew the line because he felt like in this world a child should at least be somewhat happy for a good 16 years of his life.
