Two and a half weeks later

Touka grumbled as she made yet another coffee that was requested to be made by her. She asked what table the man was at, or at least she assumed it was a man, it was always a man that asked for her to make coffee.

Nishiki looked up with an annoyed expression on his face. "Why the fuck would I tell you shitty Touka! It's your order isn't it?"

Touka gave him a hard glare and he finally gestured lazily at the far corner to a man that she couldn't see the face of. She could see white hair and a black and brown jacket, accompanied by black sweats and black and white converse.

He was reading a book and she strolled over putting on a fake smile. She couldn't believe the amount of guys that asked for the, "pretty purple haired woman", or the, "hot chick behind the counter", to make them a coffee. And then they usually attempted to ask her out like she was some conceited person who would go out with someone just because a guy thought she was attractive.

Her fabricated smile soon changed into an expression of anger and disbelief when she saw who it was that had ordered the coffee. Here, in front of her, was Kaneki, who she had not heard word from in exactly two and a half weeks and she couldn't deny that she wasn't worried about him. Yoshimura had only said he had left to another ward.

She had taken it pretty badly, yet another person who had abandoned her when she needed strength and comfort. While Ayato was by no means dead due to the care of Anteiku, there were more than just a few sleepless nights as she wondered endlessly what was to become of him. She had been worried about Ayato and Kaneki both, Ayato was bed-ridden, and has been since Kaneki had beat the life out of him.

Touka had been pissed off for the first week, while she had only known Kaneki for about two months they had bonded, so he was one of the closer people in her life, he was her only friend of her age group so she liked having a friend that she could talk to.

The second week she began to understand, she had thought about what had happened, so she let him off the hook because she thought that he blamed himself for hurting Ayato badly, so he was not wanting to come back.

She stared at him for a good minute observing everything that she saw. A lot of questions streamed through her head. She wanted to ask how he was doing, emphasis on what she wanted to ask, but instead something very different came out.

"Here's your fucking coffee you asshole." She slammed the coffee on the table and Kaneki looked up surprisingly, just noticing her, he had been so into his book he and not even felt her looking at him. He watched as she walked towards the upstairs door, clearly frustrated that she hadn't seen him in almost three weeks.

"Wait, Touka-chan. I came here to talk alright?"

Touka looked around at all the customers in the café that were staring at the two of them awkwardly that spurred a twenty second silence until Nishiki laughed loudly and smirked at the two of them.

"Don't worry you two, I'll cover your shift because you only have an hour left, go make up with your boyfriend." Nishiki said while chuckling.

Touka blanched and walked up the stairs quickly while extending a middle finger towards the ginger, Kaneki merely reached into his pocket and pulled out a spoon slowly, while giving a small smile. Nishiki backed up against the wall and Kaneki smirked while walking upstairs, pocketing the spoon.

Kaneki walked into Touka's living room and was immediately punched hard in the face.

"Okay, I guess I might have deserved that." Kaneki looked up sheepishly at Touka's enraged face.
