Each team runs to their designated starting activity. "Your first challenge is fitting your whole team on this tea towel," A gruff, bearded dad says, throwing a ragged cloth on the ground. We have six people in our team: Tommy, Rose, Jake, Seth, Luke and me. The boys discuss tactics that have nothing to do with the challenge in front of us.

"Um I think Rose could jump on Jake's back then I can go on Seth's shoulders, Tommy on his back and Luke on his front," I loudly interrupt their chatter. Seth looks at me for a moment. As if deciding whether he should feel honored to have three people hanging on him. "It's a compliment and we're being timed so bend down," I say pushing his broad shoulders down. When I'm finally secure on Seth's shoulders Tommy jumps on his back. Rose is already on Jake's back and they're on the tea towel. Luke climbs on Seth next. "Quick on to the tea towel!" I say bending my head in front of Seth's. He steps on the tea towel sideways. Tommy and Luke's bodies are hanging outside of the tea towel square but we're on technically.

"Alright good work team. Here's your next clue," The scary parent hands Rose- who is already back on the ground, an envelope.

"We don't have time to get you back down," Seth squeezes my legs which dangle in front of his chest before running alongside the rest of our group.

"This one we have to try reach that piece of fabric in the tree," Rose says pointing above us.

"Well since poodle is already on giant here, she might as well get it," Tommy says thumping Seth's back.

"I'm going to have to stand on your shoulders Sethy. Is that okay?" I ask resting my chin on Seth's head.

"Yip just hurry," He says.

I push myself up on his shoulders. Tommy holds my ankles while the others surround me ready to catch me if I fall. I reach up, grab the corner and yell for them to let me down. All of a sudden Seth has pivoted around and catches me bridal style.

"Cool trick Seth. Bet the cheerleaders could use your handy help sometime," I chuckle when he places me back on my feet. The fabric has our next clue telling us to go to the sand dunes at the other end of the beach.

"How many challenges are there?" Luke asks taking Tommy's drink bottle from his hands. I watch as he instantly undoes the lid.

"How did you do that?" I squeal jumping in front of him.

"Do what?" he says with his mouth full of water. Luke, well I enjoy hanging out with him more than most people. He is my study buddy. But he also dated Jayda once and the outcome was just awkward between them. They both went away for Spring break last year and hooked up with other people.

"I tried undoing Tom Tom's water bottle on the bus but I couldn't do it. And we still have six more activities," I snatch the bottle from his fingers along with the lid before he drinks it all.

"I'm just amazingly strong," He boasts pretending to puff out his chest.

"She was turning it the wrong way," Tommy explains taking a few speedy steps forward to escape my wrath.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I send him a playful scowl.

"I didn't think it mattered. Plus we were having a good conversation. I couldn't interrupt it to tell you that you were turning the lid the wrong way," he says.

"Ah lovers quarrels," Seth smirks. Seth is dark skinned, muscly and super tall. He is really good looking and has been dating the same girl through the whole of our high school career. He is a big teddy to be honest, another exception to the all boys are jerks thing.
