"Penelope where are you? You shouldn't have done that. You're in so much trouble now," his words only make me run faster. My legs begin to move faster than my torso, causing me to skid against the grass, landing on my bum. There's no way I can escape now. Two tall bodies stand above me and I know I am caught, "Gotcha!!" Darius yells shooting me directly in the face.
"Dariiiuuuuus, you got my eyes! You dork, owwww!" I rise to my knees to punch his leg.
"She looks good wet," He ignores me and turns to his brother, who is laughing so hard his face has gone red.
"I know she does," Zac smirks while patting my now soaking hair. The terrible two start laughing again and I take this opportunity to make my escape. Swiping the Super Soaker from Zac's hand, I sprint to the front yard where Grant is washing his car.
"Hide me," I whimper, hiding behind my future father in-law's back.
"Well aren't you a tad damp," He chuckles looking at the state of my clothing.
"Your sons are ganging up on me," I duck behind the left side of the car. Grant doesn't get time to reply as the boys run up behind us, Zac lifts me up and throws me over his shoulder, "noooo, put me dooown," I yell hitting my fists against his back. Out of the corner of my eye I see Grant give me a look. He's got a plan to save me.
Just as Darius leans against the wall waiting for the water to fill his bucket, Grant comes up behind him with his own bucket. Which is full to the brim with icy cold water. Darius lets out a girly wail as his father drenches him. Grant takes a step towards Zac who suddenly places me back on the ground before making a run for it. Grant is right on his tail.
"Throw me the gun," He whispers, I quickly throw the water gun into his hands.
Zac cheers running inside and straight to the kitchen. "You can't get me now," Zac declares hiding behind Sophie who is busy making lunch.
"And why's that son?" Grant steps into the dining room.
"Cause you wouldn't dare shoot Mum," Zac says smugly. The look in Sophie's eyes tells me her son is wrong. It looks like a Mexican shoot off. On one side of the room Zac holds Sophie like a shield in front of him. On the other side, Grant holds the super soaker in his hands, he squints his eyes as he gets his aim precise.
Zac's smug expression starts to fade as he realises that his dad is far from backing down. Sophie squeezes her eyes shut preparing herself to get soaked. Grant takes a step forward before pulling the trigger. The water goes just above Sophie's head and gets Zac's neck and chin. He takes a step back giving Grant better access to the rest of his body. Again Grant presses the trigger this time getting Zac's t-shirt. The white turns see through against his abs and I can't help but stare.
"Your girl will always have back up son," Grant smirks before walking back to his car whistling.
I can hear Darius before I see him, his evil laugh tells me he still hasn't finished. When he wraps his arms around me from behind I learn his plan. The water from his soggy top seeps onto the back of mine. Zac steps in front of me and hugs me too. I am sandwiched between two soaking wet boys and its slightly uncomfortable. I groan into Zac's chest helpless.
"Boys let her go, lunch will be ready in ten minutes. Go get dry, because you aren't going to get my new dining chairs wet," Sophie says. The cute thing is both of the boys let go of me as soon as she tells them to. What darlings, to her at least.
"Babe you're a poop," I grumble as I close Zac's bedroom door.
"You started it Pippy, if you hadn't squirted me with your water bottle you wouldn't be looking like a drowned rat," Zac says matter of factly pulling me into his ensuite. I gasp at Zac's nasty remark with wide eyes, "I'm kidding silly. I can see your bra and I can't deny it is extremely sexy." I shake my head as I strip out of my wet clothes.
