"How was it?" Shaun asks as soon as I walk in the door. He's seated on a bar stool at the breakfast bar with a glass of strawberry milk. Pink milk reminds me of Charlie and Lola.
"It was so much fun. Darius is so strange," I pour myself a glass.
"Did you and Zac kiss?" He winks at me. I shake my head, slurping my milk up with my loopy straw, "aw good girl. Take your time, I know that both of you have been waiting for the right moment for a long time. There's no need to rush. Luke wanted you to call him. You better do that before he freaks out," he laughs as he stacks his cup into the dishwasher. I nod with my straw still between my lips. "Goodnight precious, go to sleep soon. Because I have plans for tomorrow," he kisses my hair and heads towards his bedroom where Cassia is waiting for him in bed.
I sit on my bed cross legged dressed in my grey pj playsuit. Phone in hand. Luke picks up on the third ring.
"Hey are you safe?" Concern is laced through his words.
"Yes I am. Are you?"
"Yeah I left the party shortly after you. I took Eden to the movies and came home after dropping her at her dad's house. I actually quite like her. I only kissed her once and that was when I dropped her home. How about your guy? What did you end up doing?"
"Weelll. We went and got food then drove to the cliff. We ate our food while looking over the city. We went to Cool Cream for dessert then went to the park. Zac's brother is so funny. But he kept ruining the cute moments. So Zac didn't kiss me. To make it up to me he is taking me out next weekend."
"Oooh that sounds fun, despite the no kiss. Tommy will cry when you tell him you're away another weekend. I think he wanted to have a sleep over," his chuckle basically vibrates through the phone.
"He can still have his sleep over on Friday night."
"No I meant just with you."
"Luke he has a crush on someone else. Oh and I just remembered Conroy and Storm are coming to stay on Friday night. Speaking of Conroy I gotta go. Talk tomorrow. Sleep well princess."
"Don't call me princess. My genitals are too big for me to be a princess. I don't get how you have a sleepover with the twins. Your friendship with either of them is so different to the other. Kay night. I want to ask what's wrong with Conroy but I won't. Night beautiful friend."
"Night," I murmur and hang up.
Conroy picks up instantly. "Did you win?" I ask cautiously. He stays quiet. Which causes me to panic. "Conroy, are you hurt?" I question him.
"I won... but the guy broke my arm. I'm at Max's I called him because I didn't know what to do," Conroy finally says, "He tended to my wounds and he made me chicken soup."
"Aw he's a cutie. But I'm mad at you. Why did you do it?"
"I need the money. I asked if I could leave the gang and they said yes but it comes at a cost."
"What the hell Conroy?! If you use the fight club to get the money you are just getting sucked back in. You'll have to pay to leave the fight club and the cycle continues. Silly child," I grumble.
"I know I stuffed up. But I don't know what else to do."
"We will figure something out. Goodnight Conroy."
"Night Penelope."

The sunlight seeping through my curtains pulls me from my slumber. I reach onto my bedside table for my phone. I'm not ready to get out of bed yet but I'm awake enough to scroll through my notifications. The lock screen tells me the time is 10:06. Maybe I should get up but this ass is too lazy. I have a few Facebook notifications. Mostly just people liking the photos Seth put up last night. I have a missed call from Eva then a very long message about how sad and hurt she is. As nasty as this sounds. I say this with the best intentions, but Eva will have no problem finding a new guy. Let's just hope the next one will be more loyal and respect her. Lots of people have liked my Instagram post of the view from the cliff last night. Mum has sent me a Snapchat of Luca dancing on the coffee table and Storm has sent me one of Chloe and Clark looking at baby bassinets, I had kind of forgotten about that drama. I'm missing Storm a lot.
